If a member has been banned, can he still recover his account? Thank you so much. Please let me know if you can help me.

If it didn't say it was a tempory ban for a specified period then the ban is permanent, so no it can not be recovered. You will have been given an email link to send an appeal to. It is very rare and only in exceptional circumstances that an appeal will be successful. Also making a new account and starting again is ban evasion so if you get caught doing that you will probably get banned again.

Im brand new looking to get started on YDX, I'm looking for yassin54, my search for him keeps saying "temporary unavailable". Thank you  Grin

Search was temporally disabled due to the DDoS attack but has now been re-enabled so it should work if you try again.
What kind of Ddos attack ?

The policy to not remove anything worked when the forum was small. Now that we have thousands of posts a day, we can't afford 50% of them being junk. The moderators are now instructed to be less tolerant of low-value posts.

Some guidelines:

1. Free speech - you can say anything as long as it is relevant and presented in a calm and polite manner. Swearing, SHOUTING etc. make your post more likely to be removed.
2. No zero value posts or threads, like "SELL SELL SELL"
3. No pointless or uninteresting threads.
4. No referral code spam
5. No NSFW content
This is a great new implementation by bitcoin organisation to implement this new rule. There is just too much cyber junk floating around in bitcoin. Now at least the bad posters will have a reason to stop

Awesome!

One point though; I think that you should remove "uninteresting" since that is completely subjective and there is no way an honest post can avoid it (readers determine interest, not the poster).  I think that "pointless" covers it well and is much more objective within the context of a group and easily covers "intentionally uninteresting".
and who will define, an interesting post or not... this opinion is subjective. a lot of things it is interesting to me, but also it is a lot of not. here so then also it turns out that ban for anything...

Staff decide, but of course it is subjective. Staff aren't going to remove posts just for the fun of it though so it really needs to be a worthless contribution for it to be considered for removal. Lots of people report posts that they think are pointless and sometimes the staff agree and sometimes they don't, but users here aren't banned just for 'anything' and are done so for breaking a serious rule. This forum is probably one of the most liberal on the internet and in fact many would and have argued that moderation here is too lax.

Yes, agree. We really Appreciated and we thank for consideration. Sometimes our post  has been deleted even though it is related to the topic.

Just because it is related to the topic doesn't make it relevant or important. Stating an answer that has already been given is pointless and should be removed even if you put some effort into the answer.

And also to those account that has been banned, We lost our activity that we've been working, can retrieve our accounts? Thanks! Smiley

Not if it's permabanned. However, you can create a thread in Meta requesting unbanning on specific accounts.

I would like to inquire if it is ethical posting something you had written about bitcoin in another forum or website, for instance, an article. Is that considered ethical or unethical on the forum?

For quality cryptocurrency contents, kindly contact me. Thank you.

It's not unethical if you actually wrote it. However, I'd probably mention that you have posted it elsewhere or properly quote and 'source' yourself to avoid any issues as if it looks just like a copy and paste you may get banned so best to err on the side of caution.

Moderation policy is a thing of respect. It would be very unethical and unwise to go against it. Many members of the community tend to violate policy without intention, so that's something for administrators to take into account before going for strict measures.

I wonder what is the definition of low value. Value is relative. to one person it might be of high value and relevant while to another it might be of no value. How will you determine if something or a post is of low value to everyone?

How about you read the actual posts of the thread you're in because asking something that has already been asked and answered is low value:

and who will define, an interesting post or not... this opinion is subjective. a lot of things it is interesting to me, but also it is a lot of not. here so then also it turns out that ban for anything...

Staff decide, but of course it is subjective. Staff aren't going to remove posts just for the fun of it though so it really needs to be a worthless contribution for it to be considered for removal. This forum is probably one of the most liberal on the internet and in fact many would and have argued that moderation here is too lax.

Edit. But do you want to know what is really low value? Copy and pasting posts:

I wonder what is the definition of low value. Value is relative. to one person it might be of high value and relevant while to another it might be of no value. How will you determine if something or a post is of low value to everyone?

The irony.

Which account? Depends what it was banned for but if it's permanent for breaking a rule there's nothing you can do. However, create a thread in Meta about it if you want clarification on a specific case.

#I agree about no referral codes (except perhaps in the signature if not intentionally used as the main message like using a large and bold font or huge image).

After all, most new bitcoin options (pools, exchanges, vendors, etc.) are largely discovered by posts here.  Referral codes could be banned outright if people abuse it in signatures, but I suspect most if not all will be responsible.

Hi! Newbie here, anyone can explain me the meaning of NSFW content.tnx and god bless us all.

Have you ever heard the thing called Google? It's a pretty cool website that you can use as a search engine to find anything you're curious about without the need to make a post, especially here.
