If power is a concern you can't beat the 1060 6gb, 23mhs@75w
Just don't buy 3gb cards as their days are numbered!

Got some R9 290 mining ETH at 29.7mh/s each with no electricity costs. Still profitable at all but only with no electricity costs. You can get those if you're lucky for 170$-190$.
Greetz
of course it is nice with no electricity cost

Mate in your estimate how long can the 6gb hold till it can mine? I was planning to get rx 5xx but no lack hard to get, instead getting 1060 6gb but worried about the memory.

Okk guys so I am new to mining. Without taking into account the availability of the cards and talking only based on their hashrates and power from the wall and ROI and also their company prices. Can you guys tell me which is the best card to use for mining. Looking at ETH/ETC now and moving on to VTC/UBIQ/ZEC/XMR. Thanks, Akaash
hello Akaash, I think the best card for mining ETH / ETC / VTC / UBIQ / ZEC / XMR is gtx 1080TI 8gb sorry bad english

I'm pretty happy with my RX470, but considering getting an Nvidia Quadro P6000. Hard to find anyone who's used it for mining though.

I strongly suggest that you NOT buy that card for mining. The vast majority of workstation cards (such as that one) are not worth the price tag for their mining performance. For the price of one Quadro P6000, you could probably build a nice rig with some 1080ti cards, and it would perform FAR better than if you spent all those funds on a P6000.

The 6gb cards are the way to go, they should be good for the foreseeable future. The 3gb cards will not be able to handle the dag file sale around epoch 190ish!

In order, and just now : GTX 1050Ti 4 GB 1 fan (cheaper), GTX 1070 8 GB 2 fans but only 1 6+2 pins (less power consumption in VGA BIOS settinfs), ... and soon : nVidia Volta (AMD VEGA is pure shit)
What is your choice, my friend :-).
I had to settle for the 1050ti. Couldn't find anything else or couldn't get more than one. Its not bad for the price if you can catch it on Amazon for 150. Im a slowly build a 2nd rig and deciding between 1070 and 1060 6gb as they become available. Dont get 1050TIs. You will need more motherboards, ssds, etc just to make them all run. In the end, you spend more time and money on equipment which only prolongs ROI/profit. Better to just spend an extra $50-100 on more overpriced cards.

Well I agree that the 1060 6gb cards are the best "right now". The price and the low power they use is incredible. As long as you don't get cards with Hynix memory. Completely useless.
As far as ethereum, even if POS doesn't come this year, as the difficulty rises the 1060's won't be the best card but they can still mine everything else. If money or power is of no concern, then obviously the 1080 ti's become the best card by far.

Vega has disappointed us so Rx4** and Rx5** are still the best cards for mining. They are out of stock but I think people will begin selling their cards because ROI is about 10 months.

I'll wait till mid September to buy 1060, hopefully they'll have a stock and lower price.

RX 470/480 RX 570/580 1060 1070 1080Ti
All of the above, except for 1080 non Ti, which is, P/P probaly the worst of them all.
You are mistaken my friend, it's quite the opposite. The 1080 (at least here in the UK) is priced 10-20% higher than a 1070 and 40% lower than a 1080Ti. I hashes over 20% faster than a 1070 in anything but Ethash and only approx 25% slower than a 1080Ti. The 1080 has the best bang for the bucks. Period.

If you have enough money to spend get 6x 1080Ti If you don't have then don't get in this, the difficulties are rapidly going up and any card you get will be non effective in some months. You can at least sell the 1080Ti and recover some of your investment. The other cards will be worthless later.
Better approach may be investing the money in some less risky coins.
