For me it's unclear if...

1) BitcoinABC/Cash will only be created if BIP91/Segwitx2 will not get enough support, or

2) if BitcoinABC/Cash will split in any case

Does anybody know for sure how it will be/what will happen?

Second question: Is it meant seriously or just a strategic move to support the NY-agreement, to avoid support for an UAHF?

I don't think BTC chain will split....
I was just thinking this.
If it actually does then good timing on releasing this coin right on that day.
Clean getaway on them if it does. Cheesy

Very interesting idea, if BTC is not divided, will BCC still be issued?BTC now supports SW2 and should be smooth, like LTC.

There is more info here

https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/

Apparently there is alot of support for BCC.

Just in case it actually succeeds, try to keep your BTC in your own private wallet with your private key so you have access to these coins.

Well the software isn't released yet, its still under developement.

When it gets released most likely all the BU nodes will upgrade to BABC.

More info here about the client release

https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/6ofaiu/after_exploring_uahf_details_below_bitcoin/

The chain-fork activates on a specified date. Set to 2017-08-01 12:20:00 GMT

Then another project will benefit whales! Also if the project proposal is just an extension of Bitcoin, it will hardly have any value, I'll be watching! August 1st is a long awaited community, you have chosen a very interesting date.

Another great question for the PoW coin is who will support it with the hashing power and if there is a protection from 51% attack ready  Huh
Maybe ViaBTC will and some multipools, but that hardly counts more than 5% of Bitcoin hashrate so the forked chain will be very vulnerable to attacks.

Anyway airdrops are always welcome  Smiley

They made some changes to the difficulty algo, so the chain would survive with minor hashrate.

here you mentioned that we can keep bitcoin wallets as long as we have the private keys. Your list includes blockchain.info.  but it seems we don't have private keys when we keep bitcoin there. Can you confirm with this please?

From what I heard, if you save your private seed you can somehow export the private key in Electrum.

However I never tried this so I am not 100% sure.

what date we must take our bitcoins out of the exchangers in case of split ?

It is better to move our bitcoin from any exchanger or other places into our own wallet 24 hours before August, 1st. And don't make any transaction after it, until everything is clear!

You can get (export) the privkey to your Blockchain.info address(es), just go:

Settings ->Addresses -> More Options -> Private Key

Then you can import the key to whatever Bitcoin client/wallet you like (of course, if it has an option to import them)

This isn't an airdrop, it's a fork.
Its an intentional fork away from Bitcoin to create a new crypto currency called BitcoinCash (BCC), all the coins and their addresses are effectively in both chains at the time of the fork.
If you have the private keys to those addresses, you will own the coins in both forks.

So if you have 2 BTC in your own wallet before the fork, after the fork you will have 2BTC and 2BCC. You can spend on either chain, but unless something is put in place to prevent a replay attack, transactions from one chain can simply be copied by anyone to the other chain, and the transactions will then be mirrored there.

It is very likely that the value of your 2BTC + 2BCC after the fork will be less than the value of 2BTC before the fork.
