This is a disappointing thing for Delta.
I agree how Ann Coulter reflects his frustration on social media rather than sitting together in internal Delta.
Its' not about the compensation in question but how a passenger receives his right once she had paid cost for her flight.

Surprised she's even flying in coach.  Not a big deal to me, but Delta should have asked instead of telling her.

I've had really good service from KLM/Delta.  I needed to switch a flight last minute and it wasn't possible given the no frills ticket I purchased.  Delta switched my flight and waived the fee completely without me even asking.

This happens all the time. And the other airlines also do it. In my opinion, she escalated the things by going to the social media to blast Delta. The airlines was acting within its TOS when they cancelled her seat.

Na it deserves to be noted that Delta just doesn't care they see people as walking dollars.
If they cared even a little bit then maybe the US airline industry would be tolerable, even with the small seats and low airfare, but I guess cause she escalated it to make them look bad they got annoyed and was like F this chick lets just give her the minimum.

Send the Senate on them they deserve it, might raise fares a bit though but it could also force a few mid-size carriers to escalate and sustain a base level of treatment seat and design that cannot be modified so they can't lower the standard to a new crappier standard and compete on who has the cheaper and worse seats in the end.

Guys, Delta should have been much more attentive to its clients. Do you think it is the first "misplacement of passengers" like this? I have used this company and it cares only about money. That is my opinion...

Yeah, I don't know why this even made the news. At first I thought she had purchased a seat additionally, to make a space around herself. But now I understand she simply was switched seats at the last minute. It used to happen to me ALL THE TIME, specifically when I would buy a last minute ticker home during the holidays. it's really not a big deal.

She acted like a spoiled brat in this;  despite how she felt, not really fair to post the pictures of the passengers and crew like that. And then to make it political seems a stretch; had they been aware of who she was, they would have probably asked someone else. She isn't that recognizable, to me at least; id have to hear her voice to recognize her.

I think what her point is, she has long legs and paid for the preferred seat. She is 6 foot tall or something with longer legs than normal women. Iam also 6foot tall and it is incredibly uncomfortable to sit in a regular seat on a plane usually.

This other person who took her seat is a small person who doesn't need extra room. She doesn't look to have any handicaps or issues

Appartently this woman wanted to sit next to her family, which isn't always possible and in the grand scheme of things they made someone else give up their seat who needed it more.

Even if it wasn't ann coulter, people with long legs or tall people who pay for a larger and more comfortable seat shouldn't be forced to give it up to a small person.

That doesn't make it right. If I pay for a seat that I chose, I expect to get it when I board. It's only right. It's like getting in a grocery line, paying for brand name crackers and, just before I get out the door, an associate tells me I have to take the generic brand because another customer wants the brand name, then proceeds to pay me the difference.

WTF?Huh

Funny.

your avatar and flavor text are fucking hilarious, you win the day good sir.
I caught that too, but I wasnt going to say anything Wink

I will concede that she indeed purchased her seat with her particular condition in mind, and to deny here that without recompense isnt the smartest customer service policy on a per customer basis. with that being said, they were within the terms of service to make said change, and they did offer to recompense her for her troubles. By making it a deal, or at least by taking pictures of the other affected passenger, she reduced her bargaining chip, so to speak. had she been calm and righteously indignant, she could have probably profited from her misery, if not in perks than in publicity.

but to be honest, this was about publicity from the start.

and seriously though, you have a website/podcast/show and you are still flying coach? fuck being thrifty, flying is like spring break nowadays. you are gonna get groped, everything is expensive as hell and you might have to fight somebody. you gotta fly first if you can man, its Mad Max times on domestic flights Cheesy
