Nice, but what about the blockchain? My client still doesn't synchronize - stucked on block 17819 and only 1 active connection.

Update:
I deleted the data dir and restarted the client, now it's on block 27188 dated on 30-Oct and 5 active connections.
Is it possible to get current on current block to mine this coin?

Selling Elacoin.com if anyone is interested.

should reinstate it cuz its surging now. dont think you'll get 100 BTC you're dreaming of tho. up to you.
join us in #elacoin again.

as for the coin, might be attractive to miners. high value coin with reward ~ diff so your mining power gives you approximately the same return over time (modulo the slow decay factor everyone experiences)

Is there any way to find the total supply of Elacoin? CoinMarketCap.com needs that information in order to relist it.
CoinMarketCap.com also needs a working block explorer -- does that exist? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Where can i find a Total Supply for this coin?

I might be out of the loop, I dont know what Total Supply is. I gooled a bit in the bitcoin context. No answers.

As for 'total supply' of the coin (not capitalized, a general concept as opposed to the namespace of a type of a service or website you might be referring to), if you do mean 'how many coins will there be', then we can look at the code of the coin.

The coin scales linearly with difficulty, so it depends on the difficulty as to how much each block is worth. but the coin's base reward is multiplied by 194400/(194400+#blocks), so
it will decay over time. The coin retargets every 2160 blocks, aka an interval. We're into the 16th interval with block 34560 earlier today.

Someone with more advanced math than me will have to prove that the total Supply is provably enumerable, provably enumerable within a range, or can never be enumerated in any way.

need a block explorer with the updated client in place to see how many coins are actually out there so far. as for the total that will be created, depends on the community. so it's kinda proportional to mining interest history, actually. which sets it apart from many other coins.

ill do a couple models of difficulty/hashrate vs coins produced sometime soon. curious to see what the profiles look like.

Estimate came from blocksolved.com. It was saying 47/day 'ish at my ~1400 kh/s speed. Difficulty was the same over the whole mining period, and rejects were about 5%. I did not notice any orphans occurring but it is possible. Because it was a new pool to me I recorded coins earned a while to make sure I was getting paid properly, as follows:

5:30pm  approximate start time, give or take.
6:10pm  earnings of .515  with .915 unconfirmed
8:21pm  earnings of 2.298  with .7419 unconfirmed
10:10pm  earnings of 3.866  with .514 unconfirmed
10:31pm  earnings of 4.094  with .623 unconfirmed
11:24pm  earnings of 4.765  with .4372 unconfirmed
11:33pm  earnings of 4.8202  with .4162 unconfirmed
stopped mining. a while later my final balance with nothing unconfirmed was only 5.273

Hi MacT,

I just noticed your post about estimated and real payouts on ELC pool and started investigating what happened here.
The underlying of the problem was that when we started elc.blocksolved.com we specified block reward for estimated ELC/day calculation as 1.71 based on the value at that specific point in time. The corresponding difficulty for that block reward was 2.89.
However,

Quote
Stable Currency that Regulates Itself Through Supply and Demand
Less demand? Less hashpower, less block reward, less supply. Same value.
High demand? More hashpower, more block reward, more supply. Same value.

after some time i.e. on 11th of December difficulty dropped to 1.02 and corresponding block reward dropped to 0.85. As block reward is something that is manually specified in pool config, it remained 1.71 resulting in pool estimates going off i.e. showing you 2 times more than your workers would actually mine.
This is the reason why your payouts were roughly 2 times lower than calculated by the pool and we apologize for misleading estimates that we provided due to fluctuated block reward nature of the coin.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Since then block reward went up to 2.52, so our estimates were showing 50% lower than expected. We adjusted it accordingly now and will keep an eye on it while working on automatic block reward retarget tool.

make sure you get your calculations right, the best way is to UTSL (use the source luke) and read the code, as the code is the gospel for how a coin behaves.

Easy to game a coin that way I suppose by making mistakes about the claimed vs actual reward!

Anyway good you fixed it, sorry to MacT but good catch by him. Keep mining folx.

Super3 you around, get me on irc.
