Anyone think the D3 and A5 will help take the pressure off the LTC difficulty? Im hoping people will jump to the X11 and leave script for a while. Probably wishful thinking.

Grin so you think all those ppl who bought the l3+ going to give up mining LTC ?? Grin

Lol, well I was more thinking about people who were debating between buying the L3+ or D3/A5. But sure, everyone who currently has the L3+ should shut off their machine and sell it to me!  Tongue

I don't think they'll have any effect - the limit right now on LTC hashrate growth is "how fast can Innosilicon and Bitmain get chips to make and sell more miners with".

Not a good sign that Innosilicon has ALREADY sold out the recent A4 batch they put up for sale (where they dropped the price to 1400) and bumped the price back up some on their next preorder batch.

Up side - my A2s are still very profitable under current conditions, and seem likely to stay that way for quite a while longer. 8-)

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

If you have free electricity it depends on how much kW you can use for free if you have like around 5 kW or more and have limited funds you can purchase s7 antminer to mine bitcoin they are very cheap around 500 $US to get and can give you around 200 $ US worth of bitcoin presuming that you have no electricity cost so it is worth while to have a bunch of S7

Sorry, you may not know my name. I am Andy NIU and am the CTO technical services at Bitmain. It's not mandatory that you buy actually. We have received payment for a total of 110 miners so far and have tagged the respective miners with the addresses of the buyers for dispatch on the 4th of August.

Wow!  I also doubted that post about the auction but I just decided to take a risk by making payments for two L3+ without the shipping cost. To my greatest surprise I just got a mail from Hashnest that 1008MH/s has been added to my hashing power, but I won't be receiving payouts on them till on the 25th of August.

Mary NIU.                                                                                Today at 08:10

At 23:59 hours of 31st of July 2017, we are going to be deploying 100 new Antminer S9 and 100 Antminer L3+ to cushion any unforeseen market instability that comes with the impending Bitcoin fork. This measure is being put in place to protect our miners investment and also preserve the trust you all have placed on us.

The deployed 100 Antminer S9 and 100 Antminer L3+ miners will be removed from the network, decommissioned and auctioned off at a discount from 00:01 hours of the 4th of august 2017.

Cost:
Antminer S9 (including its PSU): 22 LTC
Antminer L3+ (including its PSU): 25 LTC

To take advantage of this opportunity; make payments to any of the following LTC addresses and post ur transaction ID here afterwards.

For a speedy audit of auction winners, each address will only accept payments for 25 Miners.
Note: Auction starts immediately. This is a first pay, first served auction, your payment will be refunded if your funds come after the first 200 payments.

Shipping:
1. For an auction of 1 to 3 miners add 7 LTC to your payment.
2. For an auction of 4 to 10 miners add 14 LTC to your payment.
3. For an auction of 10 miners and above add 40 LTC to your payment.
(To host the miners on the cloud, please don't include the shipping cost in your payment)
I JUST SENT PAYMENT FOR  75 L3+ !!!

My transaction ID was " rotinhellscammerscum ".

Coming from experience: ASICs pay for themselves much faster than GPU/CPU mining my man.

ASIC payback vs GPU payback has varied a LOT even in the last 4 months alone.

In general I meant. There was the brief period at the beginning of this year where my GPUs made more money than my S9s.......briefly.
However, I think it is healthy to diversify so If you're truly a miner, have both Cheesy

ASIC's definitely do ROI faster than GPU rigs but GPU rigs can generally mine profitably for longer than ASIC's. Once the next ASIC miner comes out you are always left with a worthless paperweight that can't efficiently mine or be resold. The GPU's you can still sell back when some new and improved GPU comes out. I agree that there is a place for both in a mining operation but I think GPU's are far more adaptable to an ever changing environment to go along with a decent resell value.
