And how did they come up with this number ?
I can't see any possible method to count how many people use crypto since there's an endless number of altcoins plus every person can have thousands of addresses for each.

This is just a wild guess made into an article.

According to the article, there are 3 millions miners that mine cryptocurrencies and not use cryptocurrencies as mentioned in your thread title. For sure that Miners represent a significant number of cryptocurrencies users but the use itself doesn't depend on mining. There is a more large growth number of crypto users all around the globe. There is no official statistics but estimations for the number of tokens real holders. I guess we will sooner see some charts after the adoption of cryptocurrencies by big campagnies and some governments but this may take a little while.
