Typical. Soon as I get around to selling some BCH the price drops through the floor.
Looks like it may have just bottomed out though now.

BitcoinGPU is a fork ... if it managed a value of $600 then it would instantly have a market cap greater than BCH due to all the existing coins already in the market

If, if, if.

Yes. If BitcoinGPU was BitcoinCash, it would be third in market cap. But it ain't, so it ain't. Your 'ifs' are worthless.

Quote
I don't know anything about this project it's just a good example of how a fork should happen

'Should'? According to who? You?

You wanna invest in BitcoinGPU? I'm not gonna stop you. Knock yourself out.

Not that I mean to denigrate BitcoinGPU. But a fork of Bitcoin with segwit, 1MB creeping upwards, and new PoW is nothing that interests me. OTOH, Bitcoin Cash is simply Bitcoin with the transaction production quota throttle backed out. Exactly what I was looking for in terms of the One True Bitcoin. As were enough others that it has a market cap in the billions scant weeks after launch.

Anyone with a campaign ad in their signature -- for an organization with which they are not otherwise affiliated -- is automatically deducted credibility points.

I've been convicted of heresy. Convicted by a mere known extortionist. Read my Trust for details.

Just a thought...

Segwit & co, fear Satoshis stash of btc, there will be plans in place to stop his wallet on segwitcoin.

Satoshi knows this and has planned ahead....he/they created Bitcoin cash  Smiley

I have a feeling a lot of positive news will come from this event. Ver, Jihan, and even Satoshi himself Craig Wright will be speaking there. Sept 10 a week and a half moonshot.

Great to hear.

After looking through everything I can find on Craig Wright I believe he is in fact Satoshi Nakamoto and it's going to be oh so glorious when those against him finally cannot deny it.

BitcoinTalk is a highly censored cesspool primarily serving as a vehicle to operate scams.
Pointing out truth or straying from the promoted narrative will be met with shills spouting non sequiturs.
Trust ratings are meaningless as those who control them are not worthy of trust.

Not to mention the 80+ companies that have been invited to attend. Mass adoption by year's end?

Smart players are mining and selling expensive segwitcoin and buying the cheap bch...
once they have enough, it will switch and segwitcoin will begin the death spiral...

I just dont see miners, exchanges and others supporting segwit, when global financial freedom is at stake.

You and me both. I'm still holding on to my $700-ish acquisition. For me, BCH is "purer" which requires no additional software to bloat it. It's better in it's simplicity.

Another thought lol...

Why is blockstream/core relying on bitmain and other miners so much and at the same time not listening to them.

segwitters better pray that blockstrem/core have some mega mega mining farms set-up if they want to survive.

yeah I got all paranoid about that death spiral malarky but it ain't gonna happen...
status quo/common sense rules.... not worth upsetting the apple cart at this point.
like everything in crypto, all hot air and hype to get the masses all wound up.
been there, done that , seen the movie, got the teeshirt etc, etc....zzzzzzz

bitcoin cash will forever be bitcoin cash... a not too shabby priced altcoin. (especially since I got mine free, I'll take em, thank you!!...)

2, things please...
you think seg/block could blacklist or stop satoshis wallet?
&
its been almost a week , is there a way to see how many users have moved to segwit addresses?

This web page let's you know exactly how many segwit transactions are in each block. Not many, so far.

http://segwit.5gbfree.com/countsegwit gives count
http://segwit.5gbfree.com/countsegwit.html shows a graph

Edit:Sorry, it does not appear this data is not very up to date. But it is all that I could find.

:)cheers bonester ...
sorry i have a few questions if you could maybe give me some feedback.
think this is due to low demand or something else?  what if it doesnt ever go much higher?

also whats your thoughts, could seg/core block satoshis wallet?

I can't comment on the low demand for segwit, thus far. I believe the problem is mostly technical. I know that I have to use the trezor beta wallet if I wanted to start using segwit.
Edit: I think this article explains it. Many wallets haven't fully implemented it. You have to use a command line transaction to do it with Bitcoin Core. What casual user is going to go through the trouble of using command line?  Cheesy https://www.coindesk.com/segwits-slow-rollout-bitcoins-capacity-hasnt-seen-sudden-boost/
Also, neither Bitcoins nor Bitcoin Cash for that matter are truly fungible. So yes, core can hard code censoring these addresses. Very possible. A mining pool can also censor these addresses, and refuse to include any transactions in their particular blocks. Furthermore, exchanges and other vendors can freeze the funds of any inbound transactions, if they feel it is fit. They can also be nice and let you withdraw your coins and give you the boot. Coinbase does this all of the time.

BCash is nothing compared to the next coup attempt waiting us in November.
IMO that attempt is way more legitimate than BCH hardfork. Remember segwit2x got support from most (90%+) miners.

Anyone tried this https://blog.btc.com/bitcoin-cash-wallet-for-mobile-grab-it-now-f017957d956e ? Seems very nice but the wallets at the btc.com, they don't give me my private keys there so I can't restore my coins from there into say Electron Cash for example. I'm wondering if this mobile app wallet offer private keys? If anyone tried it or knows?

(Yes, I should try it myself but phone isn't charged. Hoping maybe someone here tested it.)

EDIT: I'm sorry. This question was off-topic. I did not think about it when posting it. My apologies.

EDIT2: Well, half off-topic. I think BCH needed a good wallet and this seems very nice.
Blockchain is working on pushing out a BCH wallet released latest by the end of Oct. I would wait for that if you can afford to do so. BTC.com probably miss the train by not providing their customers with the appropriate private keys.
