After this upcoming hard fork which will be real Bitcoin cash, this will be major question. Lot of people taking advantage this pump and are making money because after that current value of BCH will be divided into two coins. This is called what you dig for others one day you fall in same hole.
I just found out about this fork news, bitcoin cash is not a genuine form of bitcoin and now there will be a hard fork. I could not think how it would happen, there would be 2 coins that were the same as unreal. |

So I am guessing that this price rise is due to the upcoming controversial fork and many want to load up on both coins. This is generally what happens with any forks, people want to profit by holding both coins and get free money essentially.
The issue here however is due to the lack of replay protection and without it, I don't see both forks surviving for long. Maybe later on eventually one fork will implement replay protection but I don't see any exchange actually allowing any deposits/withdraws until this matter is handled.

Meh. We di'n' need no steenking replay protection for the 2017 Aug fork. Some exchanges dealt with it on the ground. Other exchanges waited out the speedbump. Either way, those that planned for it made it through just fine. The coin holder always has the option of transacting in a manner that they are not subject to the vagaries of replay. |

The most effective way to shut down any chance of splitting the chain right now is to refuse to upgrade to either set of consensus rules. By buying into the idea that we have to pick a team, we're increasing the chances of a battle that damages BCH. And for what? I feel the same m8 Leave BCH the way it is for time being. posm, hashwar , consensus, matters short term .but ...if BCH goes in a direction that most users dont like, then it will become a cashwar... If BSV wins hashwar then no point having the most valid blocks if exchanges and users dont want BSV...those valid blocks will drop in value if there is no user base... If ABC wins hashwar then same again as users of BCH are worried about ctor and 100 % DO NOT WANT ANOTHER SEGWET..... Both camps will struggle to bring in the cash with a smaller user base than they already have.... If one or both camps feel the need that they must win because their vision is the best... then they should set out a roadmap, new name, new ticker and fork from BCH on a future planned date. Why do we need HF anyway at this moment? We're certainly not hitting tx maximum speed etc. Instead of adoption and growth we're fighting with each other. I'm afraid it may impact market value and future of the coin.

It was claimed by people behind the BCH that hashpower will decide the fate of coin. This is probably last pump for BCH because after so-called stoshi vision will share many things with it by taking from it. It is looking very profitable situation but anytime anything can happen. I will not get myself involved to make profit, it is better to watch from distance what's going to happen next.

The hard fork is happening and it will split the already fractured BCH community, further dooming this coin to irrelevance. After the pump is over with and the fork hits, BCH ABC price will dwindle some 25-40%, with the rest of the price going to BCH SV. It was greed that started this coin and it's greed that will be the end of it.

normally hard forks make the price of coins go down this is the first time ive seen one jump at the news of a possible hard fork it is pretty odd to me. I am tempted to jump on this train but ill stick to the safe tactics and avoid this. but it is a very intriguing development ill enjoy seeing it unfold |

No, it was core not increasing blocksize to 2mb as agreed to that led to creation bitcoin cash. "As agreed"... as agreed by whom? If any BIP carried the necessary weight to implement a 2 MB block, they would have done so. BTW, when you say "core," you mean the Bitcoin Network. Just call it bitcoin. No need to call it "core." That ruse is long over with. |
