Depends on how good the evidence against them and what the crime is. The punishment might not be enough to completely stopping crime, but if it saves just one future victim, it's worth the deterrent effect.

I believe that we just borrow our lives from God. And He is the only one who have right to take them away from us.
I don't agree with death penalty because life is sacred. Yes maybe we want the criminals especially to those who committed grievous crimes to be sentenced with death penalty, but we do not have the authority to take other people's lives. Only God can take our lives. I disagree with death penalty because we do not know, these criminals might change and turn from their wicked ways.

Talking about the evidence, in normal circumstances the judges or the jury award death penalty only in cases where they are 100.000% sure about the guilt of the accused. Even if they are having a 0.001% doubt regarding his guilt, they will never consider the death penalty. In the past some innocent people were framed for fake charges, but I don't think that it is happening right now.

At first I didn't agree with having death penalty. But when you watch the news and see all those fucked up things people do without remorse, most likely you would want them dead too, especially if you're connected to the victims. The only problem is false accusations. Lets say they hang a killer because of manslaughter and after a week later they realized that he wasn't the real killer, well shit. You cant bring the life of that man back. as opposed to just jailing them.

Indeed! This is the truth. People disagree with the point of death penalty because they think if someone is under a case and given death as penalty, they'd automatically hang them. There are actually studies if the said penalty works or fair for the suspect.

I'm 101% Agree in death penalty, It's better to hear that Criminals, Addict, Rapist, Murderer and Terrorist are being killed rather than inocent people are killed by those Criminals.

I believe that we just borrow our lives from God. And He is the only one who have right to take them away from us.

I think that in life, death should be the endpoint and not a way to intentionally kill or do harm to others. Life is about giving hope and chances and if we are still here then we should be also at least give people the due process that they deserve.

I believe a penal system should operate at a moral higher level than the criminals it sanctions. I simply refuse to believe that the appropriate, state-sanctioned judgment for a murderer is to … well, murder them back. I believe that taking human life is heinous. So why would I support my government doing it? This is also why I don’t support war unless we face imminent invasion, or some sort of clear military threat.

Prevention is one thing. And punishment is another. Death penalty achieves both these objectives. But there is an even better option. We can send these people to some remote labor colony for the rest of their lives. They can do slave labor and the government will be receiving the revenues. In my opinion, death penalty is too lenient and soft.

Lock them up in a real bad place for life, one that makes them wish for a death penalty. Problem solved.
For me I'm favor on death penalty because it gives justice to the victime of heinous crime...many human rights advocate said it will not decrease the crime.but for me that is not the target the criminal must face there retribution on what they doing...give them the weight of justice.

Death penalty isn't practical at all. What for  should we kill bad people when we can just let them do some work while they are in prison. They can clean streets or take care of animals or whatever. The thing is that their work shouldn't be cruel and dangerous for their life otherwise it's not a sign of any kind of justice.

Exactly! That's why we just punish them with life in imprisonment rather than death penalty which is more effective so that they will be forever be hunted with their conscience and forever be replayed in their minds the faces of the people they did wrong.

I do, specially when the convict did extremely cruel things like rape, murder, felony murder, capital sexual battery, etc., I think it gives justice to the victims and their family and it makes people think twice before doing something bad.

I’m kind of caught in the middle with this topic. I also believe in God and I also don’t think we have any right to take away anyone’s life. However, it’s kind of hard to stick to this religious principle, when you put yourself in the victim’s shoes. What if the victim was a close family member? I bet the next thing you’ll have in mind is to purchase a gun kill the person and obtain justice for your loved one, especially if it was a child or worse, your own child. I’m talking about rape, murder, cannibalism, child molestation, etc.

I believe that those criminals and crimes which was subjected for death penalty will be judged fairly.  They will undergo the due process and will not just be sentenced to death penalty.  I agree with the death penalty especially now that people are so heartless.  Just this day, I heard that a group of 19 years old were inquested for the crime of murdering a 32 year old security guard.  It was so devastating that at that young age, people are ready to do such crimes without thinking and analyzing things.

No, because in any circumstances spilling of blood and killing other people must be a last resort rather than first option

I agree we should have death penalty, but I don't think every evil criminal should be sent to death penalty.
I think it depends on what's the crime the criminal conducted, and why he did it.
For example, someone conducted a crime just because he want people to end his life,
and I think instead of send him to death penality, life sentence will give him more pain/punishment.

That is a very sensitive and critical question to ask. It would not only touch one's belief in religion but his moral values as well. At plain view, you can easily say that death penalty is bad because it is tantamount to taking one's life in replacement for a crime he committed. The operative word there is replacement; however, I believe that in a crime, for a victim or a victim's family's point of view, mere incarceration is not enough. To me, it depends on the effect of the crime committed and the crime in general as well. There are some people that really needs to be punished in a capital way to make sure that what they did won't happen again to other individuals. However, giving chance at life and for a person to change is always the best way to go.
