The last time someone was executed in my country was long back, in 1979. For the last four decades there have been no executions. But a lot of us now feel the need to bring back the death penalty. The incidence of brutal crime is rising every year. There needs to be a strong deterrent.

Do not directly to execute someone then we must first know the problem, if it must be put to death there must be a very big problem whether it is corruption Which is detrimental to state money and must be put to death

Thu number of pro death sentence people is too damn high! The developed world is developed because one of the core beliefs is the belief in the sanctity of human life. Every human life is sacred. Really bad people should be put away for life, so they can't harm anyone, but they can't be killed.

Once you start justifying murder, where do you stop? The only legitimate murder is when you save lives doing it. But even this has to be anchored in the immediate, if you start generalizing it you can justify any war.

I support giving death penalty for those who are involved in large-scale corruption. Because when you steal a large amount of government funds, you are indirectly causing the deaths of a large number of people. For example, here in India recently more than 100 kids died in a hospital because the supplies of oxygen cylinders ran out. The money which was supposed to  purchase these cylinders was stolen and as a result a large number of children lost their lives.

i agree for death penalty for the rape cases

Not just rape. IMO, either the death penalty (or life without parole in a penal colony) must be mandatory for the following crimes: first-degree murder, stealing of government funds over $1 million, attempted rape of a minor, high treason, and trafficking of hard drugs. That said, I would still prefer life w/o parole in a penal colony over death sentence, since the latter option is too soft and lenient when compared to the former. Let the criminals rot and suffer for the rest of their lives.

I agree and disagree. I agree for the fact that all people who committed such crime like murder and rape should be perished in this world. I don't believe that they will change. A killer and/or rapist that are pardoned or paroled and released, once the got out they have the tendency to get back on their past life in just one snap. I disagree in some case where in no proper judicial proceedings where handle out by the judge and the verdict is Death penalty even though the evidences are not that clear. In addition, Racial discrimination is also the problem some judge based their verdict on the color, race, and nationality of a person (suspect).

The issue of racial discrimination in the judiciary is just an urban myth. If you check the conviction and punishment rates in the United States, then it is clear that the non-Hispanic whites are the ones who receive the harshest punishment for any offense. However, the number of convictions may be low because the crime rate among this demographic group is lower than the national average.

I don't agree with the death penalty if the criminal hasn't taken any life-like in Sharia law. The only reason I'd condone its application is when the accused has killed another person, and there is proof beyond doubt. It's God who has the right to kill, but sometimes we also need to act.

You can kill a man by accident. Do you really think that such "killers" just as deserve to die as serial maniacs? I'm against the death penalty. It can not be used for anyone

The ones who destroys or even kill many lives of innocent peoples.

There are intended cts of various criminal sick pearson who make all kind of repulsive things, but even so i do not agree with the death penalty. It isn't in our power to decide who lives and who die. And i olso consider that condamnning someone to death it is punish to easy.

In my opinion there are certain crimes where the committer lost his right to live.
Because it is more important to secure the safety of the society then to protect the life of an criminal.

I 100% agree with you. Brutal criminals who engage in crimes such as rape, murder and home invasions have almost zero chance of getting themselves reformed. So the only option is to keep them away from the society. Now there can be two options. Either these criminals can be exterminated, or they can be sent to some remote penal colony to do slave labor for the rest of their lives.

I believe that we just borrow our lives from God. And He is the only one who have right to take them away from us.

This is actually a good point. However, there some cases that are truly brutal. Where you will question if the person who did it deserves to be given a choice to live. This is a really difficult question to answer, and right now, I still find it hard to choose.

In my opinion death penalty is inappropriate. Our law enforcement system is far from perfect and a lot of innocent people were murdered being accused of crimes they didn't commit.

Many states have already taken the initiative and took away with the death penalty, slowly everyone will follow sooner or later. It's unimaginable that we still have a system where a person is condemned to death, by the hand of a fellow person. What gives us the right to decide whether someone can live or die, respectively of whether he killed one or a million persons. We don't have the right to such a decision and no one should have the power to decide life over death, it's just unspeakable off. And if that's not the worsed, just consider that in some countries, executions are the norm for much less severe cases by horrible ways (hanging, throwing stones etc.). It's really a shame that we came to that point but I am confident that in due time, other nations will follow and we will wake up to a more just world.
