There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

https://poloniex.com/press-releases/2017.07.24-Our-plans-to-handle-potential-BTC-network-disruptions/

July 24, 2017

Our plans to handle potential BTC network disruptions

There are a number of proposals for technical changes to Bitcoin that may take effect in the coming weeks, so we are taking this opportunity to communicate our plans for managing any resulting network disruption. We take no position on the desirability of any particular proposal nor do we have a stake in any outcome. Our primary concern is protecting our users and their tokens.

As we have done in the past when faced with similar circumstances (1), any decision we make will be with the security of users' tokens in mind. We will be disabling deposits and withdrawals of Bitcoin (and all BTC related tokens) any time we deem necessary to ensure that all tokens stored on Poloniex remain safe. The length of any possible downtime is unknown as this is highly dependent on network stability. Our objective will be to bring the wallet back online and enable deposits and withdrawals as soon as we believe it is safe to do so. Trading will be unaffected during these periods.

At this time, we cannot commit to supporting any specific blockchain that may emerge if there is a blockchain split. Even if two viable blockchains emerge, we may or may not support both and will make such a decision only after we are satisfied that we can safely support either blockchain in an enterprise environment. If we decide to support and make available derivative blockchain tokens after a blockchain split, note that if you have your tokens on loan at the time of a split, we cannot distribute the derivative tokens to you, the lender, as you would not possess them. Such loaned tokens can, and often do, leave the platform. (2)

If you don't want to leave the decision of which Bitcoin tokens to support (or recognize as valid) to a 3rd party, you should not keep your tokens on any 3rd party platform. We encourage you to follow our Twitter and Notices board for updates.

Well this isn't exactly encouraging but it's nice that they finally said something. It's interesting how they said that "you should not keep your tokens on any 3rd party platform" but they won't let you do a full withdrawal of your funds before August 1st if you're not fully verified. Since these proposals just spontaneously came into existence, you may not have had enough time to prepare for them.

Just to play it safe, I would definitely move your BTC from Poloniex into a wallet that you control. I'd use Exodus, or even better, purchase a Ledger and hold it there. You'll have access to your private keys and be in a far safer position than on online hot wallet.

Yes that's true, to play it safe you need to move away from the onlinecwaljers but I don't doubt uf it's going to be that easy for some of us who are still glued to our coinbase wallets.

Check the official website:

https://www.bitcoincash.org/

Bitcoin Cash is going to be an altcoin (although earlier it was thought that it will be a chain spit from the original Bitcoin), formed by some of the miners rejecting the recent changes (SegWit).

I have no way to contact with them. the ticket system is so slow and their twitter account literally publish one sentence a month. They refused to gave users free steller lumens airdrop. Now I don't know if they will give us BCC after Aug. 1.  any ideas?

I did not hear any poloniex information about bitcoin division. So, do not risk if they do not answer you. Currently, bittrex is the best place to store bitcoin. They accept the risk of bitcoin when it's split, so you should use it.

I withdrawal my bitcoin to electrum. There you can control the keys and you cant have worries about that bro but I am 100% sure that from bitcoin will not be born another cryptocurrency so there will not be splitting for sure.

The BCC coins are sure to come. I 'll have to get prepared. BCC is a hard fork. They may compete with BTC directly in near future. I never tried electrum. I will give it a try. Do you have to wait a lot of time for syning?

I think electrum is a handy purse to use, you should use it. In addition, other wallet hardware is similar, however, do not use any web wallet.

For mobile purposes when you're away from your computer, electrum is really useful. When you have access to your computer, kindly prefer bitcoin core please.

I think soon poloniex will give statement or announce about this. but if poloniex rejected to give us bcc, then I am sure in other market will accept bcc and start to trade with other or maybe trade with bitcoin. many things can happen before 1st august, but the one thing that we can do is don't think too much about that so it can be bother our way in trading or anything else.

You can have BCC on August 1 because BitcoinCash (BCC) is a fork of the ledger, that means you own the same amount of BitcoinCash as you did Bitcoin at the time of the forking block. However, if your Bitcoins are stored by a third party such as an exchange, then you must inquire with them about your cash. So now mate, if you're Bitcoins are on exchangers withdraw it now on offline wallets were you controlled your keys like Electrum.

I don't believe so, they aren't giving coins from the Stellar distribution, if you want to keep any coins associated with your bitcoins you need to have them in your own addresses, this way you control them, otherwise they just keep the coins.

You should contact them about this, they will provide the most accurate information. However, if they accept the division of bitcoin, if they provide the BCC to you, they will inform you. Currently, they have not done that yet.

Some wallet service providers have already expressed their intention of not touching Bitcoin Cash. I think Bitstamp and 1Broker will not be participating in the distribution and keep of Bitcoin Cash. Now, if this Bitcoin Cash can be given for free then I would gladly receive them so I can sell them in an exchange playing with Bitcoin Cash.
