World’s Largest Bitcoin Tumbling Service Announces Sudden Shutdown

The largest mixing service has decided to shut down operations, citing the future of Bitcoin as a catalyst. While no links have been made official, users question possible pressure and dark market shops as a possible cause.

Well its all over in the forum for the last 24 hours that Bitmixer.IO, one of the longest campaign signature here and the largest mixing services has closed. Here is the official announcement coming from Mr. Bitmixer himself.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of customers was caught off guard and totally shock as he himself admitted that they are earning good profit but the business has to be shutdown. But I think that there are more apparent reasons (pressure from a government?)for the sudden closure of bitmixer. I hope that this is just temporary and I hope that other mixing services will not follow suit.

We could only speculate what push Bitmixer to close its services to us. We will understand it the company is not making profit, but he himself admitted that they are earning huge amount. So it has nothing to do with business or competition, something deep that we will be unknown to us On the other hand, there are other mixing services that are available, such as you guys promoting. Services such as Bitcoin mixing are extremely risky, as anyone running such operations can be tried under law and imprisoned for extremely long prison sentences. So he did the right thing by closing down the website at the right time.

But what I believe is that administrators shut down the service either because they sensed they were close to becoming a target of law enforcement or because mixing volumes went down significantly after the shutdown of AlphaBay and Hansa. He is just trying to be a good guy by claiming that he is shutting Bitmixer to make Bitcoin clean. Might be he is right but I doubt a move of shutting down a successful business.

BS, they were around when Silkroad were operating and when Silkroad was busted, he still continued with his service. There

are enough people around, who value their Bitcoin anonymity that used his service. The closing of this site will not have any

impact on criminal activities, because there are still many other methods to "clean" stolen or coins acquired through illegal

means.
