Can Ethereum based Cryptocurrencies exist without Ethereum?

The whole thing kind of looks like Altcoin - Bacteria depending on their Ethereum-Host to survive?  When the Host dies the Bacteria usually die too...is this applicable to Ethereum and its dependants?

I think if ETH disappears then there will be a lot of altcoin to disappear, especially the altcoin from the ICO project. If that happens then the entire cryptocurrency will decrease and Bitcoin will surge

Its true.

I sometimes catch myself to inspiration theory:

Banks and corporation created powerfull market player to try manipulate decentralised system.

Now when ETH is 2nd in capitalisation its disapearing will crash the market price in short and middle terms.

Some of ICOs with independent blokchain will survive. I know that EOS will use own blokchain after relise. Not sure about other ICOs

If ETH vanishes, the whole cryptocurrency market is screwed beyond hope in the short term to middle term like what denny mentioned. Bitcoin will continue to stay strong and it might even surge since people will focus and shift their investment to BTC instead. Another scenario is the mass leaving the crypto currency world forever and BTC loses it value gradually. End of the cryptocurrency era. Hopefully, it wont ever happen at least not before 2030.
