ive noticed a new practice these days and wanted to ask the community about your views on this.

see here.

This thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2024824.0

 - - - - - this thread is constantly on top in the ANN altcoin announcements.

That got me interested so I dug a little deeper.

This is what I found:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2039055.0

Is this the first PPP (pay per post) campaign on Bitcointalk or have there been more?

Well honestly this is just my 1st time too seeing this and i gotta say that this is just to help the project advertise its ico. This kind of ppp to me unusual but seems legit. It is not the typical ppp that i was accostumed of. I too am curious feel free to update you posts if you have came across the same type of ppp.

In my opinion, it makes the ICO lose credibility.

If you haven't seen already, the campaign manager allows people to post 10 times a day in the ANN thread. Do you really believe that someone can make 10 constructive posts per day in the same thread without spamming? They don't even check the quality of those posts before paying their users.

As I said in a previously post: "The guy managing this campaign is legit asking people to spam on the forum for cents."

Edit: Good news :)

New Rule

Only 1 post in 24hr will count.

Rule will be applied after this post

i think there is nothing wrong with this, anyone that is paid for their work is not wrong it is good as a help specially for those who really need money. besides other ICO required their bounty participants to post in their announcement thread also and if they dont they wont get paid. so i think this is just normal and fair.

That is very much not allowed. The threads are trashed, the poster is banned for 60 days, everyone who participated is banned for 3 days, and everyone who participated cannot display a signature for 30 days.

Seems like the thread already got trashed, I can't see it. This also seem to be happening on quite a lot of alt-crypto signature campaigns.
Question: Does requiring the signature participants to post a minimum number of post per week also not allowed?

I think that would be allowed, given that the posts can be on any thread. Requiring X posts on a certain thread would be not allowed.

DO NOT Trade with this account - it is less secure than my normal account
For any inquires, I'd prefer if you PMed my normal account (DarkStar_) for a faster response.

So it's the right thing to do because you benefit.
No wonder this forum like a septic tank.  It's not a good idea in my opinion. It encourages
spammy posts big time.   Would YOU want to read anything in that thread?

I already read a topic thread like this, Asking about if this kind of activities is allowed, and as I remember one of the forum moderator answered it and allowed that activities. This is almost a half year happening in the forum (AFAIK). Why just today you guys take action when this activity is already rampant?

Can we extend this to alt coin campaigns paying out in anything other than bitcoin? As has been mentioned before a lot of them are not even cryptocoins just tokens and 99% of them do absolutely nothing about spam and all follow the same formula: pre mine a load of worthless crap then give half of it out to anyone who bothers to sign up with their 5,10, 50, 100, 200 alt accounts. The fact that numerous people have been caught getting paid out on 50-200 accounts tells you all you need to know about the lack of management on these campaigns and they're causing probably 98% of the spam right now. I would propose that if you're not paying out in bitcoin then you can't advertise via signatures here and any one that does so should have their threads trashed and accounts banned. The users that continue to advertise them should also have their signatures removed for x amount of time.

I just read this news today and it's a move that's appreciated. Hope that the campaigns stop paying for making posts in their ANNs as it not only trashes the reputation of the project but also increases spam where users are posting nonsense to get paid. I guess the rules for all signature campaigns should be changed and the members should be allowed to post wherever they wish without any limitations (except for having fixed number of posts).

Most of The signature campaign rules of each bounty thread has been changed this day, now you are not  required to post in the Ann actually it's a good news to us we are now not forcing to post in the Ann thread  , I actually like this move from moderator.

everyone who participated cannot display a signature for 30 days.

Is this a new form of ban/restriction? Is this the first time this is being implemented?
