How much power

Hi guys,

Right now I've got 4 5850's running on a Corsair 950watt power supply. I'm thinking about getting cablesaurus' extenders to utilize the 5th pci-e slot and one of the pci slots, and using a second psu to lower them, for a total of 6 cards. If I put 3 5850's and 3 5830's on it, how much wattage would the second power supply have to be?

300/400 watt should work easily... maybe your TX950 could run these cards.
corsair psu are really solid build... the GS800 is working over 1000watts with an efficiency of 75%.

1 non-OCed 5850 takes 170 Watt.

Keep in mind that 75 Watt will come out of the Motherboard. With 6 cards on the MoBo, I recommend donating the MoBo to me where I will treat it more nicely than you obvioulsy are planning to.

I'll probably use the molex connector adapter from cablesaurus, to avoid damaging the motherboard.

So 170 - 75 = 95

Doesn't each 6 pin give 75 watts though?

Is it 95*6 = 570 or 150*6 = 900? I'm thinking the latter. So I guess another 400 watt power would be enough.
