1 cpu and 1gb memory is ok

Please note that this is not the requirement to run the ZenCash node software on a system, these are the specific requirements for Secure Nodes.

Secure Node requirements:

Operate ZenCash node software on a capable system.
Recommended memory is more than 4GB
Decent internet connection
Secured to prevent hacking.
Maintain entire ZenCash blockchain on the system.
Provide a valid SSL certificate to the ZenCash Node software to use for communicating with other nodes and wallets.
Keep at least 42 ZenCash on the server in a t_address for staking
Monitor the SecureNode channel for challenge messages from SecureNodeHQ approximately every 10 minutes (in a z_transaction message field)
Respond to challenge with identifying information of the Secure Node.
Challenge response will be a combination of two things:
Send a shielded message to SecureNodeHQ containing public t_address and GNUnet document location in message field
Publish a document to GNUnet signed with private t_address including:
public t_address of staking Zen, which will also be used for reward payment.
SSL certificate and IP address
Block header from blockchain
Other information that may be necessary to make sure it is a unique server
Other potential requirements that may come up in future to allow ZenCash system to use the Secure Nodes for consensus and computing power
The Secure Node tracking system will publish the challenges, and the responses from the Secure Node will be tracked and published on a web page for visibility. Payments will be done on a regular basis.

The server needs a 64 bit processor and operating system to meet the requirements of a Secure Node. It also needs access to a decent processor core and a total of 4 GB of memory, which can include swap if the storage access is fast enough.

Well, ZEN stay very strong above $20 over weeks. It shows huge potential with secure nodes. Thanks for the incredible project, dev.

same as zcash?

No, Zcash is a completely different project. Or what do you mean? Whether it is a copy of Zcash? I asked a similar question and this was the answer:

Good stuff. Ae you trying to be as similar as possible to Zcash or are there things under way that will distinguish you from Zcash?
Zen has totally different approach and different goals, I must advise you to read white paper for in depth understanding of what we are trying to achieve here.

In short, we are oriented toward better users experiences trough multiple new wallets , secure messaging and publishing abilities. Also Secure Nodes will put us somewhere in between Zcash and Dash. Nodes are profitable but they will not be like Dash's master nodes, and their main task is securing of network, profitability is in the second plan.

Government system which will be implemented will include all holders, pools, exchanges..All interested parties. Entire Zen system evolution depends on feedback's from it community, and system itself. Constant changes and implementation of different existing technologies will take place on public demand. Our own research and development will be community driven.

* Through  implementation of Secure Nodes we made our first and big difference!

To understand all the differences in full it is most likely best to read the full documentation of all the three projects. Will do that as soon as I find the time. Thanks though for quickly describing it.

Keep at least 42 ZenCash on the server in a t_address for staking

Can I suggest a wording change here?  You don't have to keep the 42 Zencash staked on the securenode wallet.  It can be on a wallet you keep somewhere else.

Also, you need to add that there is a requirement at startup of your secure node that you have a minimum of 1 Zencash in a Z_address on the securenode wallet.  Currently, you need to send a total of 1 Zencash in small increments (like 0.2 in 5 transactions), or you may run into a situation where the first challenge pulls the entire 1 Zen, and then report that you don't have a minimum 0.0001 balance on the Z_address.

So... in total... you need a minimum of 43 Zencash to get started with a securenode.

Thanks, good hints!
Yes this is why this cannot be explained in few lines and this is maybe biggest obstacle for new comers, but we will prepare guidance.

Zencash does really look like a greats project, there is a lot of working going on it seems to create something different.

With the beta supernodes that are to run what are the future of those nodes? will the beta coins simple be trashed?

Any idea when a good wallet will come out now that Eleos is toast and I have always had issues with any swing wallet (Except Hush).  Would love to see Zen added to Exodus or even Eden!!  I just really hate leaving my Zen on an exchange!

Eleos is now deprecated!

Swing wallet working flawlessly, I don't know what kind of problem do you have, please describe it to me.

We also have Arizen wallet: https://github.com/ZencashOfficial/arizen

Exchanges especially those where you don't have access to private keys are not recommended for storing values!

We have tutorial for Linux, Windows is not known as most secure system anyway.
You can try this on VM?
