Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

How hard is it to set up a p2pool? The thread made it looked pretty simple to do

LOL like the FC2 pool I was in just sucked for half a day where I missed a ton of shares.
The problem is you need to make sure you got its right because many of us with slow hashs love the pools so we can get something... but when you miss out on a half day to a day that really hampers those with slower hashrates.

Agreed, going to make a thread for a pool owner to step up.

I REALLY hope this doesn't end in another useless coin  Undecided This is getting rediculous.

if coin wants to survive and ain reputity, it needs pool, exchange, feedbck from developers, nice webpage.

Not so sure about the exchange...so far it's killed the coins more than it helps them. Maybe after a week, and a few services are created.

Yeah I was mining BBQ to get the hang of mining... at that time I could have gotten half way decent amount+ traded for something of worth.
Then it hit the exchange.
Boy did they fuck the dog on that. Now the only people that can make or did make anything are the ones that had 1000's of them.

ANyways I am looking forward to this launch. Please dont be a mess like Elacoin. That was a good effort but some stuff got messed up.

I just hope that :
Pools
Wallets for Unix/windows ( do people use macs for this??@)
All info posted on release.

problem is you can't really stop a coin from going on an exchange, and keep it at a local exchange.

Depends how much you push for it. I personally think that exchanges should pick up the coins on their own. If they do that usually means there is some backing in it.

end of the day even when it goes on the exchange and if it drops it value, it will still be worth it as it's transaction speeds will be insanely useful. This has the possibility of replacing bitcoin for transactions.

There's more in the world than the USA... 6-10PM Eastern time == 4-8AM GMT+1 if I'm not mistaking....

That's not terrible, if the person is serious about this coin and is not in it for a pump and dump, 4am isn't asking them to move mountains.

Besides, Whatever time you pick, someone's going to get screwed over, at least he's giving a 4 hour range, vs "Exact time" and causing a million people to start complaining.

The problem is exact time is you will have everybody refreshing its browser the time given. And those with low hashrate always start mining without any chance.
With a windows of 4 hours you make it more balanced.

The worst enemy of Bitcoin is Mt.Gox exchange.

People are just spoiled on this forum. From reading all the other coins launching in the middle of the night, delaying, instalauncing. You would think people would be appreciative of a 2 day pre anouncement with a good time frame for almost the whole world.

What do you expect though people always want more more more, thats why the world is going to crap.

Maybe this launch will be what I thought elacoin should/could have been.  Have to weed through all the new trash, and this one looks the most promising as long as the dev's have their shit straight.

This one will be a lot better. Just look at its website, no comparable of the same quality is seen for any other alt coins. This one is done by the professionals I believe.
