Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Make sure you guys are downloading client only from official WorldCoin links.

you sir are what i call an idiot if you read the links youll find this is a solution to a problem with the official client

You are going about this the wrong way then. Message WorldCoin and get the fix updated on an official page. I download my client from the worldcoin.in website and have never had an issue.  I have 4 wallets on separate vlan's and no issues.  I understand you are saying there is a rare glitch, and I even commented "thank you" for posting the work around, however, your workaround or link needs to be added to the official page after being scanned and approved by a dev.  My comment to "downloading official links" applies to anything on these forums.

Also calling people "idiots" in the forum really doesn't help anything, and actually makes me trust you less.

messaged them already.... sorry for the insult but as i keep saying it is a rare glitch and might not even be a glitch it just might be the amount of people connecting to the first few peers (if it is this then WDC is getting to big for its little boots) of people dont want to download the file and want to wait for a fix then fine by me wait for the fix, i only did this so people who want to get started dont have to wait weeks while someone hits there head against a table waiting for the initial seed to become available

right edited the post for about the 5th time now anyone complaining they cant use the links isnt safe to be near a computer XD
there links to googledrive
mutiupload
and mega

googledrive and mega are that simple you have a better than 99% chance of pressing the right button even if your blindfolded emailed worldcoin.in hopefuly they will get it sorted soon but im not sure how long its going to be

I downloaded the client again from the official website and installed it on a second computer and it syncs without any problem.

Maybe some country is blocking IP's and that is why some people can't connect.

The worst enemy of Bitcoin is Mt.Gox exchange.

hmmm could be a good point but if they are its the first ever connection to be blocked on my home connection and a server in a data center... i think im going to stick with the connections getting overloaded when we where trying to connect XD (also servers in a different country)

Any way to increase block time from 15 sec to 20 sec to try and insulate against that "root" that was pre-announced?  It touts that the 20 second block would still provide near instant transactions with less orphans.  I notice there are still quite a few orphans.  Is this possible?

i believe it would be possible but it would be a fairly big task as all clients and mining pools would have to upgrade which would essentially be creating worldcoin2

Not sure you can change this in the middle of the blockchain, it's risky tho.

once the difficulty is high enough, orphans shouldn't be a problem at all.
