WorldcoinDeveloper:   Your wallet and source code, with the http://new.funcoin.co/ and https://www.cryptopia.co.nz with the algorithms and POW reward method? If it's different, it's a fork, and you destroy the coin, how about you develop a new cryptocurrency? So we must know that your wallet and code are fully compatible with the original before we can use your website!

Hello guys, it's Xanur here from the worldcoin global forum and discord.

I'm not good with words and english is not my first language so I will get to the point.

A lot has happened the last couple of years in the history of Worldcoin. We have had our ups and downs (mostly). After the Scharmbeck incident/scam or whatever you want to call it, we lost most of our community members. Some community members tried to pick it up and continue the further development of Worldcoin.

First the Worldcoin Alliance was formed. I don't know the details, but most of the board members disappeared just like the first team. Thankfully Berzeck picked up the project and continued the development of the Worldcoin wallet. As most of you know, Berzeck stepped down in 2017 because of issues with a Chinese group of people.

Berzeck left the Worldcoin protocol mostly untouched, because of disagreement within the community. Because of this the asics/multipools hit us hard and peaks in network difficulty led to an unstable network, too fast or too slow blocktimes etc. Alferz from the Worldcoin Global forum came up with the proposal to fork Worldcoin and use the CryptoNight PoW algorithm as a (temporary) solution. I support this as a temporary solution and decided to work on this as of september.

I want to hear what the community thinks about this, and if there is support from within the community. Keep in mind this is a temporary solution and after the fork is done, I want to come up with a longterm plan for further development.

I am aiming for a fork Q4 this year. However my resources (mostly time) is also limited. Nevertheless development will continue on.

Sound great Xanur. If there are any Devs who want to help, or anyone who is interested in joining the worldcoin community discussions on discord, please join.

Have you, worldcoindeveloper, contacted other WDC devs in that discord channel? Have you had any discussions with them?

The beauty of cryptocurrencies is that you don't need to trust anyone. You can download the source code and build it yourself! (Though I'll admit it's a pain in the ass, I've only got the linux version of the wallet compiling right now).

You absolutely need to trust a developer of the wallet. Otherwise wallet user could lose all their coins and it might cause a fork which would destroy WDC.
You appeared here out of nowhere and said you alone will make a new wdc wallet and then few days later it's done. Then you expect that everyone will just install your wallet without any information about what is done to it and why the new wallet was needed?
Then there is this other user who just "added seednodes" to the latest old style wallet instead of just listing the nodes that users can add with addnode console command and then expect that others will install his new wallet. That is ridiculous.

Sure have (different discord name, but it's obvious who I post as). You should join us on the discord!

Actually you don't *need* to trust the developer, if the code is in front of you. I'll make the source code available when I've finished testing and you can vet it yourself. It hasn't happened yet because I don't believe in releasing code that I haven't personally tested completely. (For instance, the litecoin code I merged, had a hard fork at block 709999 which I only discovered through testing).

I don't expect anyone to install the wallet, but I'll provide compiled copies for testing when I release the source.

What I have done is rebased the existing codebase worldcoin-0.8 against 0.8.7.5 litecoin vs 0.8.6.2 litecoin which the current build is based off of. I also stripped out all of the non essential changes, (such as the entire UI) as those changes make the wallet very difficult and error prone to upgrade.

Working on getting worldcoin.global back. I'll keep you posted. Also if we can't get it back we have other domains we can use. Project is moving forward. Those who want to join the discord channel please do. The more the merrier.

Updated wallet is here for Windows and Linux. Mac will come soon.

This is a move from using litecoin 0.8.6.2 to litecoin 0.8.7.5 as a base, as well as a removal of most of the extra styling. The wallets should feel much more like a regular crypto wallet.

It should be fully compatible with existing wallets and contains several security updates (notably OpenSSL). If you've previously been running the 0.8.6.2 wallet from worldcoinproject, you should be able to run the new software without moving your data directory.

Since the network is so weak, I've upped the number of confirmations in the qt client to 6 to match litecoin. This doesn't affect worldcoind since it's only a UI flag to prevent a a user from spending coins too early.

Source code:
https://github.com/Worldcoin-Network/worldcoin

Wallets for Windows and Linux:
https://github.com/Worldcoin-Network/worldcoin/releases/tag/v0.8.7.5

These wallets should be considered beta and come with no warranty - I've done a bunch of testing on my machines and I haven't encountered any issues yet.

Good thinking but is it enough?   If WDC price ever rises, first greedy piece of shit to notice will 51% and doublespend it to a final death on exchanges Sad

The exchanges enforce their own confirmation requirements... Cryptopia for instance requires 20 confirms before it's considered valid.

Can we fall any lower?
There are no any exchange left, or at least official ones. Bittylicious(listed on coinmarcetcap) doesn't trade WDC.
Ough I got it. WDC can be erased from coinmarketcap, that would be the floor.

Hello,

I also own WDC and these are currently on Cryptopia, because I have not gotten yet to create the wallet.

1. I have now loaded the Wallet.qt from page1 -> That's right?

2. I have loaded the addnode from https://novaexchange.com/addnodes/WDC/, now I have about 10 active connections. -> Is that correct?

3. Unfortunately, it seems that the wallet does not catch up with the blocks.

I would like to transfer my coins from Cryptopia soon, so please help.

Thank you

When I contacted cryptopia on Oct 20th they had said they had no intention on delisting WDC at that time. I contacted them again today and am awaiting a response, hopefully they will reconsider.

what to say we were even lucky that this exchange decided to remove us. there are so many problems with this exchange that this news can only be positive at the moment. there are better options and we'll get there.

I transferred my coins from Cryptopia to my wallet, but I didn’t receive the coins. The wallet was not synchronized for 294 weeks. Do you think I can return my coins or have I lost them forever?

How many hours since the time you withdrawn your coins from Cryptopia?
I transferred my coins from Cryptopia to my wallet, but I didn’t receive the coins.

Two things:
1) Have you upgraded wallet to the newest version?
2) You have to fully synced your wallet to see your coins (if all things fine)
Or there is a faster way to check, typing address into explorer, then you will know that your withdrawal been done well or not.
