Thank you Colaxais & AcceptWorldcoins for your responses.
Using the old wallet could  possibly resolve my problem.

I got the network alert when launched v0.8.6.1-30-g7ca106d-beta version from your link.
Is it safe to use that version? No hardfork occurred since or is going to?

edit: I compiled also v0.8.6.2-g55c5572-beta and got the same alert.

If I remember correctly, 0.8.6.2 is the oldest wallet you can use. 0.8.6.2 is fine though, as v1 and higher are optional right now.
Sorry I'm not sure about compiling them etc. - perhaps someone more tech-savvy can weigh in on that. As long as you've got your wallet backed up, you shouldn't have any issues though I'd imagine!

Hope this is a beginning to start a new push on WDC...I have thousands I wouldn't mind being able to use in some kind of commerce.

There has been no hardforks, so 0.8.6.2 is still compatible with the current blockchain, so it's the one you should compile/use until github has been fully updated with 1.0.1.
Currently the same alerts are show to all the versions of the qt wallet.

Not sure if any of you have realised or noticed but you can mine Worldcoins directly with Genesis Mining now.

If you want to support your network and purchase hashpower then it is something to think about.

Signed up for genesis-mining. Seems pretty good. Bought the 2.0 mhs plan and am mining 100% worldcoin. If it works out good ill upgrade my hash power.

Community is still strong with worldcoin and devs still working hard. Most coins dont last as long as worldcoin. I think one of the big problems with any crypto today is there is just too many. A lot of shit coins out there taking away from the good ones. Crooked devs looking for a quick cash out and dump their shit coin project.

I have no doubt worldcoin will come back. Might just take some time. I would like to see a steady rise in price and more merchant acceptance. Along with finished promotional video that has been crowd funded already.

Its more curiosity on cloud mining and wanting to support the worldcoin network than anything. Yes it would be cheaper to buy them on an exchange but I also want to see how long the "lifetime" plan would last with their daily deductible rate.

I've downloaded the latest wallet setup for Windows.
I can not get it to install as the setup times out when attempting to d/l from the server.
Tried it both ways (expert and basic).

Please stop snowing at Worldcoin Alliance Website.
It was funny for a while, but it is resources-hungry: heating up the laptop, shortening battery life while doesn't make reading the page content easier...

Fixed, problem with nameservers, sorry for the inconvenience as it took longer than expected to pinpoint the issue.
