Right now I own 8 coins I believe (unless there's some sneaky worthless ones somewhere), it fluctuates between about 5 and maybe at most 12 but generally is around where it is now. Generally it's very top heavy with about 80% invested in 2/3 coins and a further 15% or so in another 2/3.

Just curious.  Not counting anything less than a dollar in total worth.  I own 9 coin types:

I had a friend of mine say I collect crypto coins like he used to collect Magic the Gathering Cards Embarrassed  He was right.  Since then I have been reducing that number.  I currently am invested in 18.  End of the year 5-10.

I am holding 2 coins ETH, Ripple and Stellar. Poor me! All of them are dropping. I am waiting until the weekend. If it can not recover, I will sell to buy Bitcoin

IOTA, OMG and XEM are not so expensive and looks like they worth a buy for the future. What I'm holding as altcoin is %50 ETH and %50 LTC. I believe Bitcoin is too much expensive to invest now. Wait for 5000 or 6000 levels...
I think there is a very real chance those prices never come back, just look at bitcoin is about to break the 8000 dollar barrier if it has not already done so, bitcoin is unstoppable and it is better that you keep whatever amount of bitcoin that you have because bitcoin will go up in the next months as well.

I have 25 kinds of coins , altcoins to be exact , most of my holdings came from airdrops that iparticipated , and the others are in the bounties that i joined in. I am still holding those coins , and waiting most of those coins to be listed in exchanges and waiting for the price to pump.

It is true that for trading purposes I can buy and sell practically any available currency, but in terms of holding currencies as a form of long-term investment I only have very few: Bitcoin, with 50% of the total of my investment, ethereum 30% and the remaining 20% distributed in different currencies with a good future, such as DeepOnion and even BitcoinCash and others.

I have three coins that are currently in my portfolio: bitcoin, ethereum, and litecoin. I only choose those three based on their performance in the market and their value. I'm planning to add more coins but I'm not actually sure what coins should I add. There are a lot of coins out there and its very confusing to choose. Right now, I'm considering monero, ripple, and dodgecoin. I'm now closely watching those three coins but I'm not sure yet about them. Maybe I'll wait a little longer to see if they will still increase their value.

I got 6 different coins at the moment. It doesn't seem much but it is already a big job to deal with. As an active trader, I have to constantly check the news here on bitcointalk and also on twitter, fb, slack, etc. So for me 6 different coins is more than enough.

It is really hard to work with more than 10 different coins. I am trader on short-time stakes. Usually 3 or 4 coins in using by me for a day. But as a long investment it could be more currencies.

I have 41 tokens and 4 coins.

All the tokens are being collected on airdrops, and the 4 coins are the most popular, BTC, ETH, DOGE, and I hold XRB because of the 0fee

Oh my god, 41 of them. Hard to deal with. I used to have around 20 tokens in the past, and then I sold most of them. Because it's very hard to track all of them at the same time.

You better hold only limited number of coins and tokens for your benefit.

Bitcoin, Decred and DeepOnion at the moment, I'm thinking of adding a few more, but should not exceed 8-10 in total.
