Blockchain in Advertising- iBuildApp Network, Basic Attention Token, AdChain, and Qchain

The blockchain technology has quickly become a buzzword in the tech world today and with the meteoric rise of bitcoin’s price, cryptocurrencies have been all the rage. In fact, studies indicate that cryptocurrencies have reached a record $185 billion in market value after the bitcoin surge, with the inevitable $200 billion mark right around the corner. The blockchain technology is seeking to disrupt various industries (think finance, advertising, healthcare, supply chain management, etc.) by decentralizing control, genuinely removing the middlemen. This article seeks to look into the application of the blockchain technology in the advertising space and the various companies that are leading this charge.

Blockchain in Advertising

Anonymity is one of the most notable features of applying the blockchain technology in the finance industry and while this is a product of blockchain’s origins in bitcoin, for the advertising space, anonymity will prove to be sometimes counter-productive. The adoption of this technology in advertising will help ad creatives target audiences better, share data, make users safer and more private, and democratize who controls the data that the industry relies on.

The advertising industry experiences a lot of problems especially when it comes to determining the accuracy of stats. For instance, when we count clicks to our site or followers on Instagram, it is normally hard to tell whether we are counting true customers- that is, people or counting bots or hired “clickers” who artificially pump up ad stats so their distributors can charge higher rates. Besides, data indicates that ad fraud will cost brands $16.4 billion globally this year, and that nearly 20% of total digital ad spend was wasted in 2016. The so-called invalid traffic, where bots rather than humans view or click on adverts on websites was estimated to cost advertisers $12.5 billion in 2016. Blockchain will really help solve this issue as the chain is transparent and encrypted; brands will easily determine if the people viewing their ads are members of their targeted audience or not and as a result, they will be able to save millions in ad spend each year.

The blockchain technology will also help in removing the middlemen from the supply chain and not only will this see publishers increase their CPM but also brands will be able to pay their targeted audience directly to view their ads- skipping the ad buy process altogether. For online advertising, data is precious- it reveals patterns in one’s shopping and search history, comprises social media posts and leaves priceless clues behind. The blockchain technology distributes this data to the entire network, whereas it was once kept on secure company servers and put up for sale to bidders with a relevant interest.

This decentralized system will also benefit ad creators as well. They will have access to immense shared pool of relevant data, already vetted by other participants and proven with the chain, making ad targeting much more accurate and much less expensive. There are various companies that are leading in this technological shake up within the advertising space and they include iBuildApp Network, BAT (Basic attention token), AdChain, and Qchain.

iBuildApp Network

iBuildApp Network is building a decentralized mobile marketplace that will include a mobile advertising network, called adNetwork, which will make use of the Ethereum blockchain to solve the issues of ad fraud by linking up users directly with advertisers and recording all interactions in an immutable and transparent manner. The platform ensures that advertisers only pay for real views, clicks, sign ups and other conversion-related actions. It will also be able to encrypt impressions and broadcast them to all members of the blockchain, who can approve them; this ensures transparency and helps to identify fraud.

1.It would seem the token sale has slowed down ?
2.Is there any marketing campaign planned to grow the telegram community ?
3.Are there are marketing campaigns planned to increase the number of participants ?
4.Why was the market cap/coin circulation increased to 50,000,000 (or rather there are 100M coins but only 50M for sale ) ?
