If your talking about stability, id go with Litecoin but the technology and concept behind Monero is sound and I think it has a promising future in the crypto game.

Overall, id give Monero a go.
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I said this in the Waves vs. LTC thread... but I believe LTC is pegged to BTC.  The only way anything will happen to LTC is if BTC blows up... which is a very slim chance.  The last movement only came with Coinbase support it but that's only going to happen once.  I don't think Monero will be the next big thing but it has a higher chance than LTC... although at a much higher risk.

It will come down to personal use. I like to gamble and between the 2, more gambling websites accept litecoin compared to Monero. I reckon that there are not much gambling sites that accept Monero.

As a personal investment, I like to have both.

If you had the choice to buy only one of the two today which 1 would it be?

Monero or LTC? don't really need brains to decide on this Wink
If I had the choice to buy only one of the two today, I guess it would be monero. Even if I personally think that LTC is better as a coin than monero, I know that monero has more potential to grow in the future than LTC. Also LTC is a bit overpriced right now, while monero is still underpriced and therefore, has a big chance to pump sooner or later this year. I would consider changing choices if ltc dumps like crazy now.

Really you think Monero has more upside?

I think it's bad branding telling everyone it's so secure you can feel safe that child molestors and cartel drug lords use Monero as their coin of choice.

The obvious response is "what about the children?"

I think LTC while a riskier bet but has way more upside. Monero is not going to shoot to the moon. If it gained any traction people would just beat it down with "what about the children" remarks. Better fundamentals aren't going to overcome a branding issue like that. And it will come

Possible market cap is much lower on Monero IMO

edit - and since i didn't put any caveats in. I like mind altering substances and see the obvious benefit to monero...Just trying to be realistic about it's mass adoption to really go to the moon

The most evil ever done in the entire history has been from state sponsored currency, Monero is money nothing more it can be used for any purpose and that is the real reason for money.

I hold both. But much $$$ and infrastructure associated with LTC. They'll be getting an influx of core talent supporting LTC with the LN and smart contracts.

Good luck selling that while they scream think of the children

If I have to choose between the two coins, I prefer LTC to invest in the long run, why I prefer LTC rather than monero, because I believe LTC has a very good future in trading, but it takes a lot of time to see the LTC movement.

Anyone in this thread have some predict as me in last year 2017, next trend is cryptonight algo altcoin, I checked XDN has pumped to highest price in past week, so I think next time is trend of Monero and I will choose it.

I think you should but both monero and litecoin. Both of these altcoins have great potential and can show really really good growth in future. You can expect the price of monero above 100$ and price of litecoin above 120$ within a year or so.

LTC is one of the pioneers and is still being used and traded until now. But if you ask me which is really worth investing for a good money, I will go with Monero, the more anonymous brand of coin. LTC has been dwelling on a low level of valuation for quite a while already. They need acceleration.

Three weeks latter here is your answer.  do not forget Monero was not added to Coinbase yet. LTC was.

I prefer litecoin than litecoin because the monero already published from the first and until now the price keeps rising so litecoin could be reference choice for investment or trading could generate profits profits significantly

Monero is my choice. When complete privacy or anonymity is on the table, Monero is number 1. And in terms of market, Monero is still a better performer than LTC. Litecoin is an old and trusted coin though. But it seems it badly needs some real and effective hype.

If looking from a price perspective I prefer monero. But when we see or analyze from stable or not. LTC is more stable.

Monero is better than ltc, just because it is more faster, it has a lot of features that Litecoin doesnt have.
Xmr is one of the most stable altcoins that are on the market right now, i remember when it was around $20 each and everybody said that it would no longer more than a month.
Now it is a few dollars around of $100 each

LTC too stable, if we want to take profit faster i think monero is good to pick. but this is my personal opinion. LTC maybe good for long term but monero can give profit faster

If I choose both because the coin has a good price and good price stability. I also hold the coin and hope both coins are able to have a better price.
