Lots of fear and panic on the forums today and nothing as even happened yet!
All hell could break lose and you need to be ready!
If your starting to get sweaty palms, if you starting to panic then go eat a big fatty meal this will calm you down.
If you panic sell today and the Bitcoin price hits 3k tomorrow you will hate yourself forever!

Just a few hours ago, I received a few PMs, from a different person. Around 3-4 PMs, I think. They want me to click some suspicious link I don't ever heard before. All of it says, click this link link and link. Not to mention, all of them are brand new account. After I refresh my browser, those PMs just gone, like I never have received anything. Don't panic, agreed on that one. Stay calm and everything's gonna be okay. And thanks for the info, sir. |

There is no reason to panic anymore since we can be sure that BIP91 will be implemented and bitcoin will remains the same. BCC or BCH are to be considered by the exchanges as an altcoin and thus we can be sure that bitcoin will still be the same. We can see the price of bitcoin and it has never wavered and still going up amidst the possible split. There is no more need to change or to convert your btc to dollars or to exchange it to altcoins. This just shows that starting tomorrow bitcoin will climb up again until finally it will reach 4k$ or above that. There is no need to panic, but let us still be prepared due to the threat of hackers that are going to attack on AUgust 1 according to some rumors.

It could be a very long day today. The Bitcointalk forums could be Ddosed, Bitcoin service providers like exchanges and wallet providers may go off line. Websites and companies may be hacked. Be extremely skeptical of everything you read. Be wary of any links on this website unless your behind a VPN. If someone sends you a private message asking you to click a link don't do it! Your giving away your IP address to a potential hacker. And while we all want Bitmain-cash to die may I suggest letting the VC money (the stupid money) pump it up a bit before we all sell? I hate this shit just as much as you but it may be worth more in 6 months then it is today. Don't trust Bitmain-Cash-wallets they could be back-doored. To Avoid replay attacks on the Bitcoin network create a new Bitcoin wallet and move your Bitcoins to that wallet AFTER the fork then use your old now empty wallet with a Bitmain-cash wallet. Make encrypted backups of all your wallets new and old before doing anything. Thanks for bring this topic on board, anything might happen today and even tomorrow but everyone should remember one thing that the bitcoins are safe and no one can steal it from your wallet. Even we might find critical rumors so make sure you are confirming the news from at least 4 to 5 trusted sources. Do not panic and do not send or receive bitcoins at least for couple of days in my opinion.

I really don't do that because it will only end up on nothing. Tomorrow is just another common day as we know in bitcoin community but because of this Segwit and forking thing many are panicking for no reason on the bitcoin they hold, well, as theymos always updating the bitcointalk forum I am glad we don't have to panic as per mentioned in his last post. Tomorrow I will accept what is the decision is and also to all of us not particaipating in the Segwit that's all we can do at that moment in time.

I have no idea... but If I was a betting man I would bet on Bitcoin and the inevitable collapse of the Altcoin markets. 99% of all altcoins are shit coins pumped up by Venture capital financiers. From what I can tell there are 3 types of people investing in the alt-coin markets. Early Bitcoin inverters who are now millionaires looking to reinvest in crypto markets. Venture capital financiers who don't really care about technology or long term viability (they only care about what looks good on a prospectus so they can raise more money.) And a few die hard crypto anarchists who just want to watch the world burn.  Yeah that is a good explanation about the bitcoin viability and altcoin collapse. I'm pretty sure altcoins are more in danger than bitcoin is really. I wouldn't trust investing my bitcoin into altcoin for at least one to two weeks from now. It's better to keep the bitcoin in wallet with private keys and lock them down with 3D secured passcode. Cheers to bitcoin victory in advance! |

This is the best thing to remember, do not panic when the fork is done because there is nothing to worry about for long term basis because the only happening right now is all about the hype and you can't avoid that hype but you can ignore it. Just take a break from bitcoin and do other things and come back after the month of august and you will see that the forked bitcoin will become worthless (BCC).

It's not time to sell BTC right now, too much uncertanties with BCC fork.
About the investors, most of them really don't care about the technology behind Bitcoin, for most of them, BTC is only a way to profit if the price climbs up, and if the price goes up, you woul expect a huge dump by some of them.

It's really good post and hope that others will take it easy as well. Hope to see bitcoin getting protected by all the enthusiasts and not burning or hacking the data centres. That would be bad to recover from.
