Dude, You need to provide some example of great "Truth", what is banned in Russian Federation.
The list of banned sites is openly displayed on Roskomnadzor site, and any of such URL is not OK with the current Law.

Well, banning some sites wouldn't hurt anyone but banning the VPN's would definitely anger many. It's not like the only thing we do using VPN is to access those websites. I think it's the forest step towards dictatorship.

Banning TOR browser is a punch in the face to people who want to read anonymously in the internet, freelancers, free journalists and hacktivists all use TOR for their job. Putin with this move is trying to take total control and freedom of his citizens away. I wonder why the Russians still do not say anything about Putin? Maybe because he is one of the worst dictators alive to date and they fear for their life. He killed many well known journalists who openly spoke against him in many of their newspapers.

No one is brave enough to challenge the authority of Vladimir Putin in the entire world, He is the only only dictator that the USA can't overthrow and they dare not, I am even worried that Putin may be the reasonable politician in the Kremlin, I am sure there are others who will even do worse than what Putin is doing now.

People will find always a way out, but now it will be connected with little difficulty. In Ukraine also tried to ban Russian sites, but to ban VPN is not reached. In today's world it is very difficult to restrict people's access to information. Putin it is time to go to rest.

So the mainstream media is once again twisting the facts to tarnish Putin and Russia? But even if what you had posted is true, how many of the VPN services will comply with such requests? I am talking especially about those who are based outside Russia.

First tere are fines for search engines for includung banned url's from the list.
And for VPN providers is a ban for 30 days for not respect this rule for Russian users.

But is uncnown, how it will be realized.

Anonymizer providers and TOR are not banned, if they start to supporting the restrictions requested by law.

Putin is wise to mask his dictatorship under fake democracy. He's allowing for elections, but manipulating them. He's taking bribes, but is cautious enough to never get caught. People are scared of him, because people usually end up disappearing or thrown in jail when they cross him. He's made a fortune already and is going to continue.

Whatever the bad things that you say about him, it doesn't hide the fact that he is currently enjoying a massive support from the local population. The approval rating has been measured at around 85% recently.

I don't know what to think about those who judge other leaders of a sovereign country who done nothing wrong to them, dictatorship and freedom are word used by most corrupt government and country to control other country and priorities there interest. Other country with high democracy "in words" can't even accept the leader that their democracy "election" process result. Let the locals decide if they don't want that kind of leader and it's law.
