Just want to announce the alpha of http://BitcoinAus.com , the very start of a new Australia bitcoin community, resource directory & mining pool.
It's got a lot of work to go, and it's mostly uber simple (static) for now for security and performance reasons.
Hopefully this is useful for local Australian users! It's been a crazy intense month here, I wasn't planning to announce this yet but felt it was better to put it out there rather then delay any longer.

Feel free to contact me via forum thread/priv message or email at ausbitbank@gmail.com for any questions or just to touch base!
Looking forward to becoming a more visible member of the community I've been so passionate about for years Smiley

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

I'm giving you a go since I'm in BNE too.
I've had bad luck with Feathercoin pools of late so hopefully i can get a few here.

This one seems to be doing okay so far, just took a long time to get started at first - thanks for helping!
Since posting this I've seen up to about 20 people on the FC node at once Smiley

Unfortunately due to the long warm up I'm seeing people leave without payments after being unable to get a p2pool share - cpu miners especially. It will happen eventually, and I've been donating small amounts if I see what looks like cpuminers struggling to get anything.

If people are planning to join or stick with this node for over 24hrs, consider PMing, posting here or emailing ausbitbank@gmail with your FC/LTC wallet addresses. I'll give random bonuses to persistant users, or people joining at "unlucky" times. I got lucky by adopting fc early Smiley

Donated another 5FC, cos it looks like you haven't seen a normal payout yet, stick with it Smiley

P2Pool interfaces have just had a nice upgrade thanks to the Extended Frontend by hardcpp https://github.com/hardcpp/P2PoolExtendedFrontEnd
Usage is also ramping up on the feathercoin node, we're now 2-3% of the global feathercoin p2pool!

I've also just started up a bitcoin p2pool node, same deal as the others but using port 9332

New interface looks v pretty.
It would be nice if the individusl miner stats were as nice.
Unfortunately I'm back to my usual 85kh now but I'll keep it going.

Thanks for the coins you added to my address earlier on!

No worries Smiley
This feathercoin node apparently now makes up 13% of the global p2pool network. Thanks everyone for your support!
I think there is some miners moving from feathercoin to mincoin, I've personally missed the uber early mining boat - but if theres interest (and better documentation available) I'll add a mincoin p2pool node to bitcoinaus as well. I'm personally a little low on hashing power (2* 7970's out of action atm, 2 running), but I'm happy to put it up if others want to give it a go.

Apologies, I just had to update, modify and restart the feathercoin p2pool setup - if I didn't, payouts would have continued to get smaller as more nodes joined the updated p2pool network.
First downtime, tops of 2 minutes Smiley

Due to dwindling usage on the current public pools I have disabled them for the time being. It's not over though, I have bigger things in mind for the near future Smiley
