Many community members' gardens are booming!

Friendly reminder to all the green-thumbed community members, you can earn EGC bounties by taking pictures or videos with an EverGreenCoin logo (print, digital, shirt, ect.) in the picture. The above picture would not qualify because the logo was digitally inserted, which could easily be done to any picture in attempt to collect the bounty.  A 'physical' representation of the EGC logo is needed in the picture or video to prove authenticity. Please read more about current bounties, if interested.

To update the community in regard to scheduled C-Cex delisting, with only approximately 24 hours to go we are still slightly below halfway (2.67 BTC) of the needed volume (6 BTC) over the past 30 days.

I did contact C-Cex administration and explain the issues that could have hindered us from reaching this mark. Those issues being: C-Cex's usually non-functional API and our ANN locking. While the ANN locking probably had little impact, I do think it is still valid. But the API failure is very valid and it did prevent community members from trading on C-Cex.

I have yet to receive any response to this request for leniency.

I will report any communication I do receive. But at this time, I must advise...

Remove any EverGreenCoin from C-Cex exchange, if you have yet to do so.

It would appear C-Cex has wasted no time removing EverGreenCoin. Which is honestly no real loss to EverGreenCoin at this time.

I am glad for the exchanges and the services which they provide, but focusing on making a strong currency which will draw them to us is what I consider to be more important than trying to stay listed anywhere.

One thing I have seen lately is that as BTC has increased in value, the apparent needed volumes on the exchanges seem to be tied to BTC, not USD.

The current volume of EGC (traded in last years BTC dollar value) would have been around 15 or so BTC then.

Yes, very valid observation. The requirement is more than twice the USD now. Interesting enough, we did have almost half (2.67 BTC), which may translate to equal or even more USD than it did.

But yes, be that as it may, retaining listing on c-cex was becoming and unnecessary chore and even a cost when volume was 'created' or 'faked'. Gaining listing can be time-consuming and costly. Retaining it monthly can be, even more so. That said, those efforts are still appreciated none the less. But we may have bigger fish to fry, as they say, and allows focus to be brought to larger exchanges and services.

After having spoken to our Bangladesh partners, they’ve let us know that they’re still searching for a viable village for your well to be built in; due to Ramadan, production does slow down unfortunately due to the heat, but Insha’Allah they’re now back on track!

 

It’s estimated that by the end of September they should have a possible ground location to give you.

 

I am sorry I don’t have anything further than that at the moment for you, but Insha’Allah in a couple months it will have started to take shape.

All-in-all it was a less eventful hangout, with fewer participants than normal. We did not select a winner of the design competition. We decided to allow for more time for submissions to be made.

(Tiger) Joe has an idea for an EGC Gardens contest. We will be advertising it on Facebook, in efforts to reach a greater audience. Details to be announced.

(New) Joe has some plans for grafting fruit trees. A crowdfund is being made to help him get that started. Joe was unable to attend the hangout today, but those details will be announced as soon as possible also. Joe has much bigger plans, but him and I agree, establishing trust with the community is needed. Certainly before large funds (>$100) could be crowdfunded. On that note, the corwdfunds on EverGreenCoin.org can be used by any green organization or any community member. If you have a green idea that you need help funding, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will do everything possible to help!
