Yep, BIP148 just locked in and Bitcoin Cash is on its way. I'm curious as to if the Cash split will make total hashrate decrease or if we will continue to see a hashrate increase on the Bitcoin network. I think it'll stagnate somewhat personally.

Not seeing any significant effect so far - seems like BIP148 isn't very popular among miners, but it's early hours yet, that could change over the next few days.

Miners naturally won't like it as BIP148 was made to keep the miners in track in the first place by orphaning non-SW signalling blocks. It won't really have an impact until a block is orphaned because it didn't signal SW, which is very unlikely.

Seems like BIP148 is a resounding NONevent - which I seem to recall predicting in a thread or two somewhere 2-3 weeks back or so.

So, do BCC discussions fall into the Alt-Coin area, or are they welcome here?

I am woefully ignorant about anything related to "the fork". Does anybody actually mine specifically on the fork?

Someone does, but apparently not a lot of folks.

They were reported to have found their first block early today.

Bitcoin network hashrate on the other hand didn't even noticeably blip - the current "flat" seems to be that Bitmain got all of their "July" miners shipped and they're now up and running....

Bitmain did just put a new batch of S9 up for sale (along with a CRAZY-FAST SOLD OUT batch of L3+).

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

Apparently the network hashrate has dropped due to BCH making mining a little more tempting for some- I will personally continue to mine BTC and BTC only but this could change. One big motivator for BCH going up is that you can't even deposit on most exchanges, so price just continues to go up. This will probably be over in a week or two and price will just settle around $200-300.
