Help! Transaction not confirming can anyone help?

Hi, I tried to send 1 btc (my third time ever to send).  It has been an hour and still showing 0 of 6 confirmations.  Can anyone help?

I didn't think it was supposed to take this long or did I mess something up?  I DID triple check the address given by btce, so that's right I guess.  My 2 other transactions I've ever done went through after a while, but I got one confirm within 20 min.

You didn't include a transaction fee.  One isn't required for this transaction, but without one you have to wait for miners that are willing to confirm free transactions to solve a blocks, and then depending on how many other free transactions were waiting around before you created yours you may have to wait a while until they get to yours.  It should confirm eventually, but it might take a few hours.

Ok whew!  I didn't know if it was lost or what.  I can wait if that's all I need to do.  Just wasn't sure if something bad happened

I'll be sure to send with fee's next time I guess heh.

EDIT:  BTW,  what would be the appropriate amount to set in my QT for btc per KB if I send 1btc?

Looks like you've got a few confirmations finally.  You should most likely have 6 confirmations within the next 30 minutes or so.

0.0005 is the standard fee. That is point triple-zero five.

If it's in the blockchain the transaction can't be lost, just maybe delayed longer than you'd like.

If it's in the blockchain the transaction can't be lost, just maybe delayed longer than you'd like. 

Certainly, but the problem that had Protagonus concerned was that the transaction was not yet in the blockchain after several hours.
