Da Hongfei is not worried. I am not worried either. Da Hongfei also stated a few days ago that regulation was necessary and a step in the right direction. Remember that the People's Bank of China was especially critical of the cryptocurrencies which pretend to be money (just as I have been saying). In time Russia, China, the rest of the BRICS alliance and many other nations all over the world will introduce asset backed currencies running on decentralised blockchains and most of the current cryptocurrencies will cease to exist, but NEO will remain standing and will become stronger than ever. NEO never pretended to be a currency....it is a smart economy platform. They have stated so clearly in their Whitepaper (the original Antshares Whitepaper was especially clear in this regard). NEO is the leader in government compliance when comparing it to all other blockchains and Da Hongfei even states something to that nature during the recent conference in Japan (the government compliance comparison with Ethereum, NEM and others is discussed somewhere at 1:22:15 to 1:24:00, but a part before that can also be insightful in select compliance aspects: https://youtu.be/Y1rmePScqXs?t=4941). NEO has digital identity functionality. So the fact of the matter is that NEO is far better than all its competitors as far as it concerns compliance.

Other countries will also start to regulate cryptocurrencies. Next might be Malaysia and South Korea for all anyone knows. I am glad to have gotten even more NEO at fairly good prices.

Things really don't look very good at this point after reading the clear statement of Chinese Authorities. I saw someone mentioned in reply about early Bitcoin's ban but that is one of only global currency which can not be compared with Neo at all. It was created for limited purposes but let's see what happens. Everything is in clouds and waiting for more clearness is only better way now.

The regulation is a good thing...becouse there is so many scam ICOs...thats good for all who have a solid altcoins.

Don't listen to these people above. Most are the typical opportunistic daytraders who lie, cheat and would even sell their mother if they could make a profit with it. This is what they do. They never have any valid arguments. The only crooks here are these people complicit in libel. Remember that in China cryptocurrency scammers now can be imprisoned for LIFE. Da Hongfei is a highly credible and humble individual. Shkembe above is someone who only hops from bounty program to bounty program and he joined Antshares' bounty program without having provided any value whatsoever and still expects a payout for adding no value and then proceeds to call Da Hongfei a thief when this individual acts like the thief himself. All he did was post in the Antshares thread that he was there for the bounty program and that was that......no value whatsoever added and now he expect to be paid 15 or 30 NEO or something like that....I forgot the exact amount. NEO is not owned by Da Hongfei....it is a community project, so if this crook Shkembe thinks that he is going to get that amount for his hit and run post, then he steals from all NEO holders. It serves such an opportunist right for not being rewarded for such nonsense.

The only good thing governments and financial institutions see in bitcoin or any of the actually useful altcoins is the technology behind them.  The potential cost savings, and how it can be used to monitor and control even more than now.  Anyone expecting Neo to fail because it doesn't fit in their new world order of 'crypto freedom' is naive at best.  I'm not invested in Neo any more than anything I make money from.  I just think a compliance oriented platform like Neo is actually more likely to succeed because it isn't trying to change the narrative nearly as much.  At least until this whole crypto thing rises to whatever threshold governments and financial institutions have set before they deem it necessary to properly get in the ring.

It's also not possible to completely crush the freedom - and with the right coin, anonymity - of crypto, which pleases me  It will just never be the norm.  Most people aren't particularly sharp, or brave.  They need shepherds.  They want someone looking over their money whether they say/realize it or not.  They want the peace of mind of knowing they can contact someone for a refund, be protected from a scam, or get their money back if they accidentally send to the wrong bank account.  The way it is now, one wrong number or letter in a bitcoin address and in most cases bye bye money.  That scares people, so they don't even entertain the idea.  I don't really blame them.  

Regardless, isn't there's room enough for both worlds to exist?  I'm not sure I understand why one or the other must fail.  We do like to take a side.

Final thought - I am also a stupid human who thinks, does and says wrong things.  I wish for most of the above to be completely wrong

I finished reading above translated post which is in fact an update on the current situation.
