Seems that users Raffozor and Litcoi are simply spoofed accounts (both are new) that have been made by the founders to promote themselves -  or by early ICO buyers who are now becoming very worried as the sale uptake on the ICO has stalled at a very low level

Haha, that's interesting. I'm not related to the project or people and have not invested yet. Am not in the industry and only looking for speculation sake.

But where I differ from Raffozor is I am worried about the low level of uptake. In money terms, it's about  US$80K. Lack of "capital injection" is definitely one area this project can fail. Hence, I asked if the shipping industry is being encouraged to join in / self-sponsor.

Cut out the baseless unsubstantiated accusations. I'm all for digging up dirt on projects but this is the cleanest so far. (Did any founder change name after running away from a previous project's funds? Not a QuanTUM.)

Regarding the low level of uptake. I think this project is still very much under the radar. I'm not sure if many serious investors have heard of it. It's a shame as it seems to tick many boxes for what some investors have said a good application of blockchain to a real-world problem should be. Eg,

https://jordancooper.blog/2017/05/23/what-i-look-for-in-cryptocoins/

Current pre-ITS sale is looking for ~US$4.5 million. Next 18% sale will bring total fund to ~US$45 million. Even if I'm a paid shill, has any ICO sold out $35 million in 24 seconds? BAT sh*t crazy happens. After the founders finish with the Shipping #2030 conference today and get down to answering my above questions, I think I'll be in. Get ready then for what will look like worse shilling.  Cheesy

With all the credentials of the founders/ partners on the table and the work they are doing attending conferences to spread the word, the question of whether this is a legitimate project should be put to rest.

The motivations of the team, the good balance of different finance/ shipping/ etc experience should be obvious and weigh strongly in their favour.

The bonus is that Mr Leung is an insider with connections to get this adopted /moving. Do you trust a young entrepreneur /developer to come up with some grand scheme to blockchain the whole logistics world? I'MM LAble to think not.

i think the actual cap of 14.000 eth is voluntarily exaggerated to be impossible to reach. they want teu token price as low as possible after pre-sale, they said that many times. after pre-sale they will do ico and after a second sale with a total of 38m tokens, and during this period probably big news will and must come otherwise yes it will fail.
putting money on pre-sale is a bet not an investment i know it, but i have low capital to use and to have the highest profit i have to get on board now. if and when big news will come will be to late for me to invest.

Next question is about whether TEU is viable. The outline to usage and growth is clear and simple. It seems more viable than BTC or even LTC as a *common* world currency because it is acting as a localized currency in an area plagued with lack of trust. Maybe Venezuela's current use of BTC can illustrate this. The bolivar is hyperinflating. Trust in it is decimated. BTC use rises.

I have no problem believing that shipping guys etc have proactively reached out to Mr Leung to hear about/ be on board his project. Venezuelans/ shippers need a trustworthy method of confirming currency use, without a trusted intermediary, and find it in the blockchain.

You are really trying to talk it up Raffozor to the point where you are making statements that are easily proven not to be true.

i think the actual cap of 14.000 eth is voluntarily exaggerated to be impossible to reach. they want teu token price as low as possible after pre-sale, they said that many times.

Actually it is in reality very different. On August 12 the founders changed their mind and changed the conditions of the ICO:

Important Notice:
300cubits decides to make following amendments to its original Initial Token Sale:
.....
Pre Initial Token Sale (Pre-ITS): 2,000,000 TEU tokens will be sold in period starting 16 August and ending 20 September with the Contribution in this Tranche capped at 14,000ETH. This will replace the original Initial Token Sale to be held during the same period. The hard cap for the Contribution means the allotment of tokens will only be available for the Contributors who contribute the first 14,000ETH Contribution.

This shows that they were clearly targeting more than 14,000ETH, and we encouring people to buy quickly before the cap was reached. Your statement is not correct.

i feel sorry for who didn't believe in them but i'm ok with that more tokens for us. Grin

Went back to read how TEU will be distributed for pre-ITS and realized that all will be given out proportionately. Maybe freightjoe has bought and doesn't want anyone else to do so.  Cheesy Real pro. I'm the newb with all my hype.  Cheesy

Am waiting eagerly for update from founders on the latest news out of China on the ban on ICO's. Especially the latest "heads-up" from the PDC

https://twitter.com/PDChina/status/906192652521148416

Could this be a warning to investors to get out before the gates shut? I'm wondering if they are not only targeting ICO's but also the big 3: BTC, ETH and LTC.

TEU HQ could theoretically shift to another jurisdiction if things heat up in PBOC/HK. Some countries seem more crypto-friendly eg, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, Estonia  Cheesy

https://www.coindesk.com/information/is-bitcoin-legal/

A further question is what impact in the future use among shipping operators would such legislation have. Maybe they would be allowed to use it in the booking module but would have to search offshore  Wink for exchanges to buy/sell.

Am too young to have experienced the 2013 Btc crash. Was anyone around then and can compare the current China ban to that?
Seems they may just be temporarily "bear"ing down on the market.

https://twitter.com/LeoAW/status/904918202639147008/photo/1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fcryptoinsider.com%2Fbitcoin-crash-due-china-regulation-rumors%2F

It sure feels a little like the end of cryptocurrency as it is.

TEU is for a small aspect of the marine industry, although it may have wide effects, cutting across companies and countries. With the news of Maersk and Microsoft putting the insurance info and terms into the blockchain,

https://www.c[Suspicious link removed]m/2017/09/05/ey-microsoft-maersk-blockchain-for-marine-insurance.html

will such efforts diffuse the use or potential use of TEU? Is there a duplication or overlap? If not, with widespread use, TEU analytics may even impact a client's insurance premium.

Wow, feels strange talking to myself. The whole thread is suddenly quiet and like everyone is MIA. No (other) shills, no trolls. Worst, no devs/ founders!
To be useful, I have a take on this. Sometimes, when the dev is busy having AMA on reddit, answering queries on slack twitter or what not, you wonder if he/she's doing any developing work.  Cheesy

Nevertheless, hope to hear from founders soon.

Current amount of ETH invested in the preITS is 338.88.
Here're some interesting Cantonese connections since this project originates from HK:

3 and 8 are the luckiest numbers as 3 sounds like "rise" or "life" and 8 sounds like "prosper". Better if they come in pairs. Looks like there could be some Cantonese investors. Or quite an auspicious sign.... until it hits 777.44  Cheesy

Chinese ghost festival runs this year from Aug 22 to Sep 19. Most superstitious types won't buy property, cars or start projects this period. Better for non superstitious types.

The word in Cantonese pronounced "diu" which sounds, to me, like the token in question, is pretty colourful
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diu_(Cantonese)
Let's hope it will rise and be strong, if you get my thrust.  Cheesy

I was referring to future ICOs-- the one slated for November and further. Just wondering if it can become as hot as BAT ICO. It would seem unlikely given the current pre-ITS numbers. My confirmation bias tells me the founders are saving up the big news / announcements for later.  I definitely look like a shill. But then why would they? I don't know.

Here's some reverse psychology shilling: Don't buy, please don't buy it. Current TEU pre-ITS price is USD$0.05 (338.88ETHx $300/2million). The more people buy, the more expensive it gets (less tokens per ETH) for those who buy and even for those who have bought. After typing this, it's now 342.64ETH contributed which makes each token USD$0.0514.

Are these projects more promising? Monetha https://www.monetha.io/. Utrust https://utrust.io/
Utrust is cheaper at USD$0.04 now.
