If you pay attention, this coin is interesting because it is declaring itself the coin of a particular market, and thus is limiting itself unlike the other coins.  It is a different way to answer the question, "why do we need this coin", that has little to do with the technical qualities of a coin attempting to be a general-purpose coin.  Could this be the first appearance of a "long-tail" coin?  Not to be confused with the long tail on the kitty-kat in the picture...

You are absolutely right. LoliCoin is not intended to be a general-purpose coin, it's created for a specific community, and its development will be concentrated on how to better serve that community. This, and its name, are why it's a better choice than bitcoin for use by the Lolita community.

The ease of creating new coins is IMHO a great opportunity for crypto-currencies to succeed in vertical markets. The ability to be tailered to a specific market is an advantage that fiat money can never have.
