Aurora Pool is up and running at http://aurorapool.net and welcoming new miners

The pool uses a Proportional payout model. This model is popular among smaller pools because it provides some transparency to the payouts when only a few blocks are solved in a day.

The payout threshold is 0.05 ETH. This threshold is set to cut down on transaction fees incurred by the pool. Periodically Aurora Pool will have Threshold Amnesty Day. On these days all miners will receive ETH for any shares turned in regardless of the threshold.  This simplifies the accounting for the pool.

Payouts run every hour. If the pool grows large enough to find blocks more than once an hour the payouts will be adjusted to more often.

Support questions can asked through support@aurorapool.net or this thread.

The pool also has Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/AuroraEthereumPool/) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/1AuroraPool) accounts but these are not monitored for support requests. You can ask there but responses are hit an miss.

Your participation is greatly appreciated!

I raised the number of significant digits to 3. I not sure what "also make rounding in the big party" means.  Smiley

Does anyone know why the round variance for a pool would go over 300% or if there is anything that can be done to help?

Hello!

It seems you support miningrental, but how to mine with nicehash? I get difficulty too low with the same settings... :-(

Nicehash does not explicitly state which protocol they are using (stratum or getwork). Try using http://aurorapool.net:80  in your connection string for getwork proto.

They use stratum as far as I can tell. It seems they can connect fine, but the pool difficulty is too low, so it ends up disconnecting.

I would be happy to bring a couple GH to your pool, but without nicehash support, I can't :-(

I am able to mine from Nicehash using the following pool settings:

Type Standard
Algorithm DaggerHashimoto
Pool aurorapool.net:8008
Username 0x<WalletAddress>
Password #

I found a FAQ on their site that mentioned the '#' is required as the password for expanse and ETC pools. Seems to work for Aurora Pool as well

It seems there is still something wrong, because nicehash reports the connection keeps dropping due to difficulty too low. Basically, I can mine for a few seconds and then it disconnects due to diff to low, then reconnects and mines for a few seconds, etc.  Huh

Is anyone else having trouble with nicehash or other cloud mining service, or any issue connecting to the pool for that matter? I am happy to help.

Can I have two Mist accounts on the same computer, you know, with two keystores?  If so can you tell how?

Claymore's miner can mine other cryptocurrencies, like Siacoin and Decred, while it mines ethereum.  I am working on a decred pool so that aurorapool users can dual mine.

You can have as many accounts as you want. Each one has it's own key. The keystore is the place where the keys are kept. It doesn't really make sense to keep the keys in more than one place.

For those who missed it: Aurora Pool 's promotional period is ending. The pool fee has been raised from 0% to 0.7% (yep still pretty low). Also the payout threshold is now 0.05 eth. Payouts now run every hour instead of 4 times daily. Questions can be asked in this thread or via email to support@aurorapool.net .

I just wanted to say thank you to all of the miners participating at aurorapool.net and to the kind souls that helped me figure out how to get the pool running (you know who you are).  We've managed to knock out 64+ blocks with very little down time. Payments are working smoothly. I've only had to field a few questions via support@aurorapool.net and the feedback has been very helpful. So thank you all.

A month ago I heard a guy on CNBC saying bitcoin would go to 10k. I didn't believe it. Today I heard a different guy on CNBC say 40k. Should I believe that?
