After Btc-e scam people start to lose trust on exchanges again.
I suggest you to use your own wallet with private keys.

yes i think so it's more be safe to use own wallet with private keys, and if there is still time to secure your assets to your wallet.
hope all will be fine so that not many people are harmed and lose their asset.  Smiley

If you are holder and want keep your coin safest. You should use wallet can keep private key is best choice. Because putting all your funds to an exchange have many risk than split it to more parts, the circumstance as BTC-e can repeat anytime will make you tired, boring.

I don't think poloniex will be shut down but there is a good think that btc-e caused people to diversify your coins between exchanges or offline wallets.

Some of this time polo service is very bad, I decided to withdraw my assets and move them to my wallet.
i do exchange only in the market that has been registered in my country,
i chose to stay away from poloniex due to recent negative comments,
just look at their twitter is full of complaints.

People are loosing trust in centralized exchanges. The future belongs to the decentralized exchange built by BLOCKNET. your private keys never leave your computer:

BLOCK = the first ever truly decentralized coin and token exchange platform.

I know this is not at all recommended to keep money in exchanges, but still I have about half a bitcoin there. I doubt it will go down, because it case it will, I can assure you that will be a disaster...

Never used polo and at this stage probably never will. In comparison Bittrex have been far more trustworthy and open about what they are doing, polo have shot themselves in the foot with their inability to scale.

Poloniex is for me better better they have a far greater volume, and for a trader like me, this is the most important thing. They graphic is also simpler and easier to use when compared to the slow T-rex of Bittrex.

All the talk about Polo going down got me paranoid!! Moved everything to Bittrex!! I'll have to get a new laptop and install the wallets on there.  I don't trust my current laptop thinking it's got malware from all the downloading I do!!

...but do you use your laptop for login at exchanges??

If so, it's not much better. Use malwarebyte, it's free and do a really good job cleaning malwares.

I log on using my iPhone!!!

Is everybody thinking Polo is going down and moving their coinage off their site to Bittrex!!?

I trust none. There is no difference between poloniex and bittrex for security issues.
But poloniex is still easier to use by mobile phone. And i dont have a better option. So i will continue trading on poloniex till i find a better alternative...

To keep coins on any exchange is always too risky. The best way is keep on your own wallet. I think we need a big decentralized exchange and it's will appear soon.

Yes most of the people I know that are altcoin trading are now moving their coins from Poloniex to Bittrex because they are afraid Poloniex might close down and would bring all their coins to nothing, plus there was a new terms and conditions updated by the site so maybe some caused panic also when that was posted.

Did anyone read the new terms and conditions??  It would be much appreciated if someone posted the short and sweet version of it!!  I just glanced over it quick just before I transfer'd all my coinage to bittrex!!

I think it is true. The poloniex is the biggest exchange now. But I think it will be replaced by the bittrex since new alt coins are always listed on brittrex. More and more investors choose to buy new altcoins.

Bittrex seems to be more active in terms of adopting new technology, which is good for its customers.

i admit i was a little bit scared and somehow panicked when polo is down i even promised to myself that if polo comes back it would be my last in their exchange. But after trading in bittrex i have managed to see why i should still use poloniex cause they have insanely low btc withdrawal fee of 10k sats compared to bittrex's 100k (10x lower) and also faster to be confirmed than ttrex i dont why bittrex withdraw should be faster than polo but in my case it is slower.

Bittrex is user friendly, and what you said it's right they will adopt new technologies very quickly, so the investors will show more interest on this site. And last week Poloniex gave the big problem to the investors and traders people are get tensed because of their move. But Bittrex worked fine in that time, and they allowed BCH to trade on the same day when it launched it made many people switch from Poloniex to Bittrex.

Since few months i heard that poloniex have some problems. And ptoblems discoverd day by day.I think for this people transfer their coin to bittrex. But its not good and sequre to keep your coin in any exchage.you should to keep your coin in you own wallet. Then you feel free you get more sequerity of your money.
