Hey guys, I've made 650,000+ MANA Profit buying and selling land on decentraland. I wrote an article about how to make money buying and selling virtual real estate on Decentraland.
https://dclblogger.com/how-to-make-money-buying-and-selling-virtual-real-estate-land-decentraland-flipping/

Check it out and please let me know your thoughts Smiley

Seriously?  You're kidding right? How fast was the turn over and how easy was it looking for interested buyers?  I really couldn't think how it can be easy seeing how small the community of Decentraland is.

But I'm still interested and would love goofing around the game.  Lol.

Definitely not kidding, about 4-5 months of continuous buying, selling and hustling lol. Looking for interested buyers is as easy as listing it on the marketplace for the price you want BUT the challenge is finding dirt cheap properties you can sell fast, (quick turnarounds are what you're looking for or you'll have your money stuck in these assets or will have to take a loss).

The community is pretty big. Around 3-4000 on discord but on rocket chat they had 18,000 before they switched to discord.

And the first genesis city auction for land raised around 160 Million MANA which was about $12 Million back then.
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Decentraland Project Update — August 14th
News and updates from Decentraland

It’s time for another project update from Decentraland! We have a handful of exciting changes and additions in both the SDK and the Marketplace that we want to fill you in on.

We’ve renamed a few of our packages in the SDK, we’ve added support for Ledger hardware wallets with the CLI, and we’ve improved the process of linking your 3D content with your LAND.

In the Marketplace, we’ve fixed some querying errors in the API, we’re making progress with LAND Estates, and we are almost finished translating the entire dApp into Japanese. https://blog.decentraland.org/decentraland-project-update-august-14th-6c176f6c0c6e

Hi buddies,

Very good job, I just learned Decentraland and I love this project.

How could I to start lowly in Decentraland? I would like buy a piece of LAND but its too expensive for me (min. 6,000 MANA i can see). There will be some auction or airdrop in near future?

Thanks

It is very occasional when I come here to see something other than social media since my plan is accordingly being long on it. I felt need to say few words those may be seeking for an entry point that support is very good and real. You can always check the change in price of any token to realize. No increase isn't problem but it shouldn't decrease further.

Hi! We've listed Decentraland on Kompler. Kompler is a brand new exchange with low fees, and by buying our token, you pay no extra fee, just 0.1 KOMP per trade (about 0.01 USD) no matter the volume.

https://www.kompler.exchange/#/markets/BTC/MANA

This month we are running a competition awarding the top 3 traders with 100k NBR (https://medium.com/kompler/august-competition-100-000-00-nbr-25cd297f7131)

Check out our white paper to learn more about how Kompler works and how KOMP can help you save money!

We've talked a lot about our excitement for NFTs and blockchain gaming, but until now we haven't directly compared blockchain and traditional games.
If you're a gamer or developer, read our latest post for a run-down of how these games stack up.

What's the point of this meager game https://market.decentraland.org ?

I don't see any 3D there. Such games were popular 30 years ago.

The different platforms ask for high fees to enter the market, they also have strict policies which don’t give a chance to many applications to enter the market. Decentraland wants to change this situation and invite everybody to their platform. The market of VR will be a huge market with a lot of players. Many gaming companies will try to be the best at accommodating appearing VR customer base, and it gives a chance for Decentraland to cover this market early and be the best in it.

I really missed many things to development related in Decentraland but in less than 20 hours tow publishes almost brought me back to the level. That video coverage by BBC and now this external web API's usage are great. We have very less people among us who really care to spend time on updates but it worth all your time where you money is invested already.

The platform is in Alpha testing and there is no definite date has been given for when users can log in, explore and socialise. The team started publishing video tutorials of building programs on LAND from July 2018. The team has stated that the metaverse is expected to be open to the public by the end of 2018. I think the progress made so far is very far from the project’s vision as outlined above.

Just watched that. "It feels huge", that's what she said. My game-theoretical intuition tells me that most probably this ecosystem cannot work. First of all, what the founder says "nobody can destroy your creation" is not very true, your creation depends on server source code that, if I understand correctly, may/must be released to the public eventually, otherwise your creation will be some hash on ethereum that looks just like any other hash and does whatever other hash does, nothing. But if you are not working towards "proof of VR", an  incentive for the community to run the servers, and by the way there may not exist any good solution to the incentive problem other than centralization, the servers will remain with the Argentinian team "forever", which means until they are not profitable anymore, so long and thanks for the fish.

Then we have the "Sia problem". The Sia problem is that even if Siacoin becomes the absolute perfection of distributed storage technically, the moon price or the lambo price would make it undesirable compared to something more centralized in the cloud, so there will be chaotic ups and downs, and that is IF it establishes itself as the tech leader. Strangely there may come a day when the devs will say "hey, our storage coin is not really doing the job, but our chain is immutable, the coin scarce etc, so we unplug the storage and it is a competitor to bitcoin just as it is, now we can finally moon without the use case crushing our lungs and neck".

In the same way, lamboing with MANA depends on 1 million, 10 million, whatever gamers waking up and grabbing their device to check their virtual life, just like they do for their real life. Except that all the mooning of the first 1K, 10K players will create the impossible squeeze on the next 990K to do anything with their 50 dollars in their pocket. The rich insiders may see some enduring value to their little community, maybe some collectible digital art, maybe an exclusive messenger for the elite instead of long trips to the golf club. But a platform "for all" and an expensive coin, maybe we are asking for too much.

A good project, but the market cap is now quite large so I sold part of my MANA and bought other vr tokens CEEK VR and VIBE. I think they can compete MANA
