There is a new pull request, hot off the presses, from 22 hours ago(!)

and there is a working Windows leveldb "boot set" at

i.e. a blockchain of ~12/15/2016, MS & gcc daemons for Windows, and a Qt for Windows, suggested .conf, batch files, etc.  These can be used with (a copy of) your wallet.dat

These exes are all good to go on MainNet with no future date concerns.

They all have the get YAC price function, and the Qt version has the built in block explorer

This is for any brave Windows' souls who wish to try it out.  Hint, read the readme in the .zip file

Since I don't 'do' linux, I can't build exes for non Windows OSs.

'getyacprice' should now work on non Windows systems!  Also a better price source is chosen.  Also the Nfactor code calculators were fixed since they can't go past Nf 25.

The Github links are provided so that those proficient in linux & the Mac can build their versions of this software.

We need linux & Mac builders to flesh out the software for all OSs.  I can only do Windows.

Even though YAC is basically a clone of NVC, and that NVC is a clone of BTC pre 0.8.1 where the first leveldb Tx database was introduced, in 3/17/2013, it still has some features that bitcoin and other coins don't have.  Namely a built in block explorer, in the Qt version, and a new command getyacprice.  No other coin, to the best of my knowledge has these.

Also, since it is "older" code, which doesn't make it any less good, it can be built with older or newer tools, libraries, etc.  Which to me is an advantage.

What all bitcoin sources and clones thereof need is a "going over" by professional programmers.  See

The 5 .DLLs are only needed by the Qt program, not by the daemons, if anyone is interested.  And the blockchain is up to 2/4/2017 so is pretty current.  If you have used the other (12/15/2016) blockchain and are "up to date", you should only take the new EXEs.

These releases and their source code allow us to test new PoW-PoS trust-ratios-... changes on TestNet at any time.  This is to thwart the "greedy miner" problem of the past.  This may be alleviated by the higher Nfactor now in play?  I don't know, does anyone with H/W have any feeling/knowledge on this?

2GB will certainly not be worth mining YAC at the current NF18. The only hardware worth mining YAC are high-cpus... maybe.

It is hard to argue for PoW-PoS as the track record is not good. With that said, senjd will hopefully be implementing some changes soon to at least test to see if sticking with PoS-PoW is still a viable pursuit.

I think freezing the NF is a good idea. NF changes have destroyed the coin every time. I'm thinking NF16 to set YAC apart from UTC. It will be good to have more ideas, but there really needs to be rational behind an opinion.

Since Senj appears to be very busy, is there anyone out there that can linux or unix build a Yacoin daemon by just running the makefile.linux-mingw or makefile.ubuntu or makefile.unix or makefile.bsd
having already built the libraries needed (BerkeleyDB, OpenSSL, Boost) and levelDB for the 0.4.5... versions that Joe provided, and then the 0.4.8.x versions that I provided at

I don't run linux/unix, only Windows, so I can't do the linux/unix builds.  I'm just trying to find out why the non-Windows code for the constructor in the class CdoSocket in the file price.cpp won't compile, especially in PR #10, since I think it should!?

With bitcoin doubling just this year and more and more interest in alternative currencies, it would be nice if we can get ours out there.  It is still the only one I know that has its own built in block explorer and also shows its own price!  That is what the changes I have done provide.  The code has been available since 2014!!  It is just that no one has been able to do the small amount of work needed to make it work on linux-unix, see above request.

We can change the Nfactor and other things too.

I think high N factor is and will be a problem for YAC network, as far as i know other scrypt-jane coins change to static N or POS. In aug.2017 N factor will be 19. Is hard to maintain a healthy network at higher N.

sometimes we see that high rates can be change but it is just our misconception.

1, integrated YAC wallet program, adding POW mining function. Before the wallet procedures, even the POS mining functions are not, but after adding the POS function, the whole program interface is much better, suitable for novice to understand it.
2, publicity. YAC as a CPU, the current CPU mining efficiency has been a master GPU, which is one of the characteristics of YAC, is to increase publicity, so that more users can use ordinary computers can be mine, improve the visibility of YAC, etc. N After the value of 19, will be more attractive. While also making the YAC network healthier.
3, marketing. China market is one of the hottest markets of the cottage, YAC clone coins such as YBC, ZCC and other sales in China BTC38 good, but unfortunately, BTER after the shelves, the Chinese market is gone. Here are a couple thoughts:

-The next NFactor change will have a huge effect of distancing YAC from the terrible mechanism that decreases block reward as difficulty increases. It will be interesting to see what happens to the hashrate.

-CPU mining is subject to botnet attacks. It isn't necessarily a selling point for the ordinary person. Unfortunately, the 'one cpu, one vote' per person dream was short-lived in Bitcoin's early days. With that said, GPU miners can still mine at higher NFactors, especially as higher VRAM is becoming the norm. Is there a preference to the ideal NFactor. It needs to be unique to other algos, and if there is to be a reversion, it should be done early. NFactor16 seems to be the most popular preference.

-Considering the reputation of the few exchanges YAC has been listed on in the past, I see another Chinese exchange as a secondary or tertiary concern. YoBit has had some delays in processing withdrawals, but the experience has been much better than other exchanges. I believe it is a friend of YAC, and it has supported YAC even through long droughts of low volume. It will be nice to see it benefit from increased volume. Other exchanges will follow when volume reaches a certain point--that is certain.

Volume and interest will pick up once the PoS-PoW issues (and other issues) are finally fixed. The goal is to make YACoin BETTER than Bitcoin, and eventually, it will be an actual, functioning currency--unlike what we are seeing now with BTC, ETH, and others...
