Yeah there is, but it's not working , it's giving black screen, or crashes claymore.

Maybe claymore could help, he uses win 7 too.

So what is the verdict?
Continue using the robinh00d driver or install the official AMD beta blockchain driver?
Has anyone seen any speed difirence between the two?

Thanks

Tested in 2 rig, same speed for me. With AMD beta blockchain I can open wattman without crash (but voltage settings still doesn't work).

installed on the 1 rig with win7 robinhood's version (first opened ddu, then patched, then installed fixed drivers) *amd blockchain drivers crushes claymore 9.8*
and on the 2 rig with win10 installed Amd official blockchain (just update from the panel right click and restart the rig)
both versions work perfect - 30.3 mh/s on rx 580 nitro+ 4gb now
Claymore 9.8 with mcclock and cvclock parametrs works very unstable for me.
I installed also afterburner 4.4 beta 16 on both rigs over previous version AB
and seems that with saved profiles previously all parameters for all GPUs is working well.

This driver does not consume more watts, is all about setting it up right. Afterburner beta 16 works just right but you need to work your way through about learning on how to use it properly, afterburner has some bugs so beware that you need to make few adjustments for it to work properly if you really want what you really want.

I tend to disagree. Afterburner helps but results are not the same.

In my case it does take a lot more watts. Maybe it does depends on a specific card (Sapphire RX570 Pulse - 4GB hynix here).

Just to give some specific numbers, whole rig with 6 GPUs

Before:   183 MHs with 880 watts (-50 mV offset) LINUX

Now: 174 Mhs with 960 watts (also same offset), this is after tweaked with AF, without AF 1200 watts.

p.s. maybe there are farther tricks using AF, but it doesn't look like space technology, all you can do is moving slidebars (or I am wrong?). In my case only powertune and clocks are working.

Same situation for me. I've followed all the instructions very carefully and all my 3 rigs (RX570 and two RX580, all 7 GPU's) draw about 200W more per rig. Afterburner does work in a way that it reduces the power draw but still I can't come nowhere near as on the old drivers. I think the cause of it is that Afterburner Beta 16, at least in my case, doesn't undervolt all 7 cards in a rig.

I've looked int GPU-Z and yes, first card have lower mV and responds to whatever settings I use in Afterburner, but another 6 cards draw a full power from my PSU hence overall I'm 200W worse than before.

Seems like we need another way of undervolting it, Claymore doesn't do the job for me and rig is very unstable.

Found it on 1stminingrig, post from Otto, I'm just pasting so all credits to him:

Hi all!
After testing all day Im found one solution for undervolting with new beta driver which one works:) Maybe its a little bit primitive but working for sure for those who has rx5xx series cards. First I share my hardware. I have 7 pieces Sapphire rx580 Nitro+ 8gb limited edition in one rig. Here are what Im do:

- I have moded bios that one that Cirpian V. share with us in his blog.
- First Im remove the old one driver from the system with DDU in safe mode.
- Than I put the new one beta driver http://support.amd.com/en-u...
- Than Im install the new beta 4.4.0. 16 AB.

As many people than I have problem with undervolting. All my cards consume much more energie than before (1030-1080 mv / card with settings cc1200 mc2225) and I have also problem with heating. After all that Im do next:

- Im open WattMan in AMD's software than I click on Gaming / Global Settings / Global WattMan and chose the first card. Than Im going to change to MANUAL on voltage control and than APPLY in right top corner of the screen. Than again change it to AUTOMATIC and than apply. To do that is really Important. Than you can check in AB the voltage low down to 830-840mv. You have to do this with every single card. Also important to do this all when claymore was runing!
The only problem with this that if you shut down claymore ,or you restart your rig WattMat forget all setting and you have to repeat all theese setup. Try it, it WORK's.

If you have any questions with my setting do not hesitate to ask. If you try it and it's work than buy me a beer Smiley))))

OK, after some tuning I can confirm below setup is working fine for me with stable 30.4MH/s since 24H:

- clean and fresh Windows 10x64 Home installation + all updates
- latest AMD beta drivers
- AB 4.4.0 beta 16 with applied "voltage control" fix and this one
- no atikmdag-patcher applied
- 4x Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 8GB (11265-01-20G, HYNIX memory) with modded BIOS
- latest Claymore 9.8 with no overclocking/undervolting in BAT file

AB config: Screen shot
mv: 970
Power limit: +0

Thank you! your trick dit it for controlling the voltage with AB. I can only go down 100mv however if i first use trixx to lower it then i can go even further with AB, even to 0.800 mv. Im getting 62.2 ETH 1800 DCR (1 minute average) with only 350 W!! (2 RX580 Nitro+ 8GB)

man i got 50 odd machines i dont have the time to do this to each an everyone of them then in a week or a month
AMD comes out with new driver then i did all this for nothing.

if its just doing the first part : voltage control fix i can live with that but
having to edit the registry for 50 odd machines seems like a PITA to save a few watts.

On my metered PDU's i dot see more than a 1-2 amp difference from before, old drivers compared to the modded ones in this thread.
is  it really worth the effort to do all this

blockchain is a work, blockchain is a love, blockchain is a life...

btw. if mining would be so easy everyone would mine ... oops everyone do it ... just learn new ways to undervolt...

I am lazy so i use amd beta drivers for fix, atikmdag patcher for fix, overdriveNtool for voltage, wattool for offset, hwinfo for gpu mem error check, speedfan for fans ... why can not have one tool what doo it all and sync time too?

Hey guys, i've installed the AMD beta driver on my windows 10 rig and my rx 580 had a weird reaction, it just stayed at 300mhz both in memory and clock speeds, it was hashing just 3-4 mh, i downloaded the driver, installed it and patched it but nothing could get me out of that 300mhz loop. Any thoughts?

In terms of "does it work" - short but silly answer is YES. There is a price for it however. That price is the fact that the driver ignores core voltage settings on all power stages in the custom bios which in this particular rig results in 200 watts extra power draw from the wall. I was unsuccessful with trying to set my own voltage in claymore, wattman, watttool and afterburner - driver completely ignored given settings.

I must take back what I said earlier. Spent a bit more time with the AMD beta driver which initially behaved very similar to the one from the 1st post. I was able to get normal power draw with better hashrate.

My problem initially came from the modded bios. As I underclocked and undervolted the cards in the bios then this beta driver makes its own assumptions of what the core voltage should be above the highest clock defined in the bios. This was not the case with 17.10.3211.1031 driver - on which the card preserved the highest bios set voltage on all core clocks above.

This was setting 0.9375v core voltage on clocks 1125+. On AMD beta driver setting anything over 1125 was causing the clocks to fluctuate and the power draw was ridiculously high.

However when I stick to what I've set in the bios it works as it should.

So it looks like I will have to modify the bios for higher clocks if I want to keep the voltage at this level.
