No matter what college degree we have, some people here do not care about that.
talk about technical or Open-Source maybe you are the expert.
But you should know
Most people who are in this forum, share knowledge about crypto understanding, trading, niming, invest.
and that's how we are here. Everyone wants to have a decent life, maybe for trading, mining, or investing.
however it is the experience that speaks of all things.

I agree with you
experience will not lie
and my current job is to pursue altcoin trading.
The experience from altcoin trading still helps us even in someday cryptocurrency market disappear, because we also use that experience to other market on the world like Forex, Stock, Real Estate ...

The different market are almost the same because they are all about trading and whether it is cryptocurrency, forex or stock market it has a simple principle and that is to buy low and sell high and that is it. If you know how to execute good trades to do that then you can make decent profits from your trading and it doesn't matter if it is crypto, forex or stock market.

I did many different things like investments in HYIP programs, MLM, Forex etc.
I tried even to start my own online advertising business but without success.
Now, I mostly invest in bitcoin and business startups through Funderbeam.

This will be an interesting / funny response, you'll probably just have to take my word for it that I'm telling the truth!

My educational background is in Marine Technology, but I worked professionally as a Parachute Rigger and later as a Missile Technician onboard submarines.  That's probably about as far away from cryptocurrency as you can get, but I always enjoyed poking around and trying to figure out financials and making predictions.

Retired now though, so I can learn about this and not worry about answering to any "Boss", well, other than the wife Smiley.

For me I just learn cryptocurrencies by searching it to internet and reading it and exploring it, I think cryptocurrencies knowledge is not be taking from schools it is from you on how you became resourceful of your knowledge on how you eager to learn and explore things.

People who I know and are involved in crypto currencies, whether they are trading or just buying and holding or mining, 100% they are software engineers like myself. For me the terms encoding, encryption or hashing are terms that I can easily understand. What about non-tech guys? What do you understand by blockchains, hashing functions or bitcoin network as itself. Git? Open-Source? What about BIPs? Segwit?

Actually, I know one guy who is a banker and owns an exchange platform, but he understand all the concept and theories about the crypto world without having knowledge in computer science.

Does it really matter to know all these things to be a good trader?

So, what do you work?

I do not really know about programming, i join cryptocoin world just to earn income, i just join ico in forum to promote projects, Though not yet understood. but over time I began to understand the cryptocoin wolrd

I'm a student so I think the opinions on "working" while studying may vary Roll Eyes
Being a student doesnot restrict you from earning. You lack some sense of responsibility. For how long do you plan to depend up on your parents for your college expenses and other stuff? I am also a student but I am making bitcoins. Does that make me out of the league? Obviously not.

I don't really understand the technical details and for traders it is not really important, it can affect people who used Bitcoin but only small percentage, to be a good trader the most important is your analyzing skill and experience in trading, if you understand the technical things it can help you to understand more about why people choosing that coin to used as transaction token, but it is not too important

I'm in oil and gas - on the exploration side. Bitcoin and cryptos are just a hobby.
I actually quit my job to get into Bitcoin, because I’m getting close to times ten of what I’m getting from regular job in Bitcoin, so it doesn’t make sense to continue with my daily job. So for me, bitcoin is not just a hobby, but a real source income I have to take seriously.

It is easy but not that beneficial as some others are. How about gambling then, at least you will be able to double your BTCs within few moments in case you win.
Gambling is even the easiest task that can be done on this globe, bring some money, place a bet, and wait for result idly with ease. (Don't take me serious..)

One would certainly have edge over the rest if he knows these terms and actually digs the technical background of the project(s) but these aren't compulsory for trading / making informative investment decisions. I trade shitcoins for a living.

i think even you didnt know about any thing you can do trading in good way and good outcome.  Many people do success in trading even they didnt know about other things. You have some advantage if you known more than other.

The one good thing about been involve in cryptocurrency is that one can become expert in it by simply 'learning, researching, taking trainings and been updated'.
You don't need to be an expert in computer engineering or so to do well in it. I can say this because, I am no expert in Computer Engineering instead I have been researching alot learning and been on this forum has really made me learn more. If I intend to open an exchange company like that your friend, I believe I will do better.  Smiley

Having a lot of knowledge especially related to crypto currency of course will give a positive value for us but it is not a mandatory. We can start trading even if we only have the basic knowledge of crypto currency. The most important thing in trading is how to control our emotion.

Yes. It is important to know all these things to avoid scam. Many people use the lack of knowledge of others to get some money from them. So, to avoid that thing we need know all those things in crypto world.

I want to make money? So what can you expect while working in bitcoin somebody can do anything else? I don’t think so. But there may be many people who will be doing other jobs too, but for me I think it is just facing unwanted hurdles and obstacles.

Why should I do something for other people and they will give me some reward after a month. I prefer just to work in bitcoin and making money doing exactly nothing.

i'm an engineer too. i have a friend he is a marketer. with tech language to explain them about crypto world it's quiet hard because we have to explain the basic to them, but i try to explain with their marketer language and by analogy they understand very well about crypto world.
