my excitement was for back when everyone was panicking and hitting their heads on the walls while i was buying their coins cheap. price was nearly half the current price (~$1800) 2 weeks ago.
and from now on there will only be rises and nothing more. and at least for 2 or 3 months tops this will continue as a big rally.

and with SegWit there will continue to be more news of new features, the LN for instance, and all that coming out means continuous price rise.

I'm very excited to see what will happen, whether there will be panic because of its high value and they will take advantage of this moment so they sell it until there is a big dump or will keep calm down and wait for bitcoin prices until month. I'm very excited about this.

This was expected cause it was already announced after the hardfork or split if you are always here in bitcointalk and always updated in the current news of bitcoin. You'll know what will happen in August 8 im the price will reach new crazy highs for this is bitcoin expect some crazy things to happen that will benefit bitcoin. Im sure there will be another conspiracy theories that will tell you about some imaginary scenarios that will most likely have not occur or will never occur. I can't wait until segwit gets activated and nothing goes wrong just like they said, i wonder what would be their reactions. ? Bitcoin to the moon!

Not really. Everyone that had a clue about Bitcoin knew Segwit was going in sooner or later. It's the most tested code ever, it's perfectly fine. I'm tired of conspiracy theorists and their bullshit. I wonder where they will go once we get Segwit enabled and nothing wrong happens. They will stick around for a while waiting for a doomsday scenario that will never come, that will be fun to see. They will become like Alex Jones of cryptocurrency waiting for collapse.

The price may drop for all I know. People like to sell the news. Just buy the dip, we are going $5000 this year (if NYC agreement clowns don't ruin the price, and hardforkers are always ready to ruin the price with their idiocy)

If the first August was successful for bitcoins, then the eighth with SegWit will pass for him without any tangible consequences. I think especially no one is going through the same way as before the first of August. Perhaps bitcoin will fall a little bit in price, and maybe in his course it will not be reflected at all and it will continue to grow.

Will Segwit activation affect either the transaction cost or the time taken to complete a transaction compared to before the hard fork?

I'm happy that everything happened as per our thoughts and votes. The segwit will change the face of bitcoin from super star to wonder star now and the price is gonna head up the 4K value for sure. wow but its still a matter of support before we can say that it will be a upward moves we still knew that there's still some big whales that will
try to shaken it up but for me in the long run segwit activation will be a good update to happen to attract more newbies to start learning how

Segwit will make the price go to $4000 when it activates. There may be a fake dump to trigger idiots into panic selling before the big pump, but the price will continue into a serious uptrend for the rest of the month and into September.

Then, mid September to mid October Jeff Garzik, Evorhees and the rest of fiat corporate usual suspects thinking they know what's the best for Bitcoin, will FUD with segwit2x and crash the price.

The community has happily welcomed the Segwit that we can see through the price appreciation. But still the scaling debate hasn't over. There is still a fork scheduled in November. There would again be an uncertain period during November. But other than that we will see an uptrend in the price.

BIP 141 doesn't require 100% of blocks to signal for it for it to activate.  Its threshold is only 95%.

If 1916 blocks signal SegWit, it's definitely going to lock in regardless of what happens with the later blocks.
At this point though, it would require pretty much every single miner in existence to coordinate not to signal SegWit, which is almost completely impossible.  There are only 4 blocks to go.

Even though I really yet to understand the effect of this in bitcoin with the series of conflicting views, I would really appreciate it more if it can put a rest to his issue of scaling or no scaling, and also on the release about the continuance increase in fees that would still be witnessed despite all this by the lightening developer. If all this won't happen, then I am not surprised neither am I happy about since the status quo will remain the same.

Block capacity/size increase

Since old nodes will only download the witness-stripped block, they only enforce the 1 MB block size limit rule on that data. New nodes, which understand the full block with witness data, are therefore free to replace this limit with a new one, allowing for larger block sizes.

Segregated witness therefore takes advantage of this opportunity to raise the block size limit to nearly 4 MB, and adds a new cost limit to ensure blocks remain balanced in their resource use (this effectively results in an effective limit closer to 1.6 to 2 MB).
