5% to chase sounds easy but if we are in higher rank lets say from Plat 6 to Diamond 1, 5% is equal to $750k to wager
His strategy is good enough for under Platinum 3 rank because 5% wont be really that big.
Actually what he share is not something new, I believe there are many people do the same thing including me when I'm closed to the next rank.
But I dont like to use the lowest payout, I would prefer to use 1.5x-2x because if I use the lowest payout and I got loses streak then it will requires hundreds-thousands continuous wins to recover.
Surely it is all about our gambling style preferences, just expressing my own strategy not to counter his strategy.

The road to Plat 5 costs around $2.5mln, so it doesn't worth the hassle, IMO.

Damn! That is rough stats, imagine a $20k loss, hope he has wagered over $2mln with that lost amount.
 Weekly bonuses  + reload by Vip host + monthly bonus may cover half of the loss, hopefully.
Asking for lossback bonus is another way to recover some part of the losses btw, just tell your friend to request overall statistics and ask for loss back based on the shared stats by Vip Host. Many people have done that before.

Jus checked the odds for NBA summer league and I am shocked how bad they are.

This is pure robbery! Compared to a site like bet365 these odds are almost 10% worse, on both sides of the match, this is crazy.

Yea, I have read a forum thread on this subject a while ago and I also started to compare the odds between different casinos and it was quite clear that there are some skimming going on... even if it is negligible to some people. (1% to %10)

If you are a professional gambler, you will look for the casino with the better odds, so things like this will turn people away from Stake, if they look much deeper into the differences in the odds that are provided.

I do not care.... I look at all the other bonuses and promotions that are offered with the money that they might gain from that and it cancels the small margin that it differs.

Sportbook users most the time are the one who have so many problems, especially if you register to the new website you could be facing a few problems:
- Low limit betting size for new user
- Forcing you for KYC.

Based of my experience and see so many case in the forum, the user who are really getting a lot problem are sportsbook user comparing to slot or casino games user. Makes the really hard to withdraw some fund.

IMO, it's not always odds sometimes the service quality needed to be taken the decision as well.

Although he is losing but at least he get something back by reaching the new VIP rank, and he can hope for bigger weekly and monthly bonus which will give additional money.
I think he will also receive the Top VIP bonus by the end of this month, so it will be another additional reward.
Since not all casinos offer the same bonuses, we can consider that he is still lucky enough to lose his money on Stake as he gets something back that he might not get in other casinos.

That is a huge amount overall that he has wagered but being in lost amount 20k to get Platinum 5 is not the end of the world,of course it hurts but I don't know any faster way to get there,unless you are so special that you win all the time it is normal to have spent lots of money to get to that rank which is a huge milestone and the rewards that comes with it are great,I only envy these people as a mere Bronze that I am,getting 7 dollars weekly max when I play like crazy and maximum monthly I have gotten 20 dollars,this numbers of course I am happy with as that is my wager power but your friend truly has achieved a good milestone.He should win something big now,some x50 in Big Bass Amazon Extreme with a nice bet and he will be in profit in no time (good luck getting that though).

It varies depending on the bookmaker but I agree with ryza that it's not the odds at most times that you should look upon betting for sports like UFC.

But it's a bonus if both quality service and highest odds are the qualities you're looking for is on it. Odds won't tally at most times as it may be the lowest on a bookie and higher on the other one but it's true, much better to look where you've been serviced well.

Many people have been complaining about this for a while but I have accepted the situation at this point. The reason I have been provided for was the fact that the yare giving back bigger when you win something special, and it is also true that they are spending way more on marketing and getting more people so even with these odds they have more gamblers than probably any other place.

So, assume that you are the biggest ever casino and everyone places their bets with you, would you try to lower it? They are already happily playing with you anyway, so you wouldn't feel the need to change that. Aside from that we are talking about bigger returns when you win a promo, bonus, challenge or whatever and that part is true as well, so maybe average you are not earning much, but if you win one of those, you get huge return.

You didn't mention which VIP level you are on Stake currently. Maybe you don't wager the bare minimum based on the last 7 days' statistics so it makes sense why you only get a base amount of VIP rank. BTW, some people get Plat5 with profit and the additional bonuses become the cherry on the top for skilled or lucky guys. $20k is a lot for the average user so I doubt this loss has affected his personal financial situation, hopefully, he will recover this loss asap.
