I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential
I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well
But what do you think about it after 100 years ?
If I am going to base my answer on what's happening with bitcoin today. I can conlcude that it will still last longer than we are expecting, we've all witnessed the things that occured with bitcoin like the banning of bitcoin in China, it affected bitcoin a lot but still bitcoin was able to surpass all the trials it has experienced during those times. As the innovations in bitcoin goes by, the life span of it would increase more and more for sure. |

No dude, I think we can't see it based on what happening on bitcoin today because we never know what will happen on bitcoin in the future. Even next year we still don't know about it. In my opinion, if the next 5 years become big like the bitcoin price increase so high, i'm sure bitcoin can survive longer. Maybe 10 years, 20 years, who knows. |

i believe it survive more than 100 years it makes stronger and stronger up to now many of us want to join in bitcoin and become successful.thousands of people connected in bitcoin.and bitcoin well continue also a thousands year to serve us.many big company will support to bitcoin to increase some country officialize bitcoin. If we consider the current rates of improvement regarding the currency value of the bitcoins, then there is no doubt in it that it would rise higher and higher in the future. It is useless to say about putting an end to the world of digital currencies while considering he advancement in the technological assets of today’s world. Bitcoins are probably going to take over the financial world soon and last forever due to its excessive use. 100 years later is not predictable as of today. Maybe for around 50 years I guess bitcoin still continue to survive. But for 100 years, we never know what technology advancements are on that day. We never know if still bitcoin us usable. So as for me, I really can't put a conclusion if it still lives 100 years later. |

Maybe it can survive, but it can never last forever everything in the world will have an beginning and a ending this is how our world works. I think that bitcoin will rise in this next 50 years. I think also that bitcoin will fall very hard to zero in the future and that some altcoin will take his place. |

I think that in 100 years, Bitcoin will certainly be known to everyone. Because it has introduced the blockchain and cryptocurrency to the world. Although I don’t really think that it will still be the number one cryptocurrency. It’s impossible to know what will be the technologies like in 100 years. So, I think Bitcoin is going to be a sort of a symbol of the cryptocurrency era. While people will be using some brand-new mind-blowing technologies.

Definitely will remain supporters of Bitcoin
But soon something new will appear that will change the world.
Who knows what will happen by then but in my opinion I think Bitcoin will remain by that time. I think it survives but it slowly fades away because there are something new that appears. In technology, there's nothing impossible y'know. |

Nobody would even have a chance to witness if bitcoin would still alive after 100 years. It's not that bad to be optimistic that bitcoin in the future but let's be more realistic. Instead of foreseeing what will happen after 100 years let us focus on the following years to come where we can all experience and witness the rise and fall of bitcoin. Digital currency has a great potential in the future and bitcoin has the most potential among all.

We can not predict anything but I believe the Bitcoin market will certainly survive for more than 100 years and will be the world's largest trading market. In the future Bitcoin will be considered as the world's common currency and everyone will be able to use it in the next 100 years.

Probably bitcoin will start getting accepted around the world in a couple of years ....It is gaining momentum right now ..People are starting to use bitcoin even as secondary money I think bitcoin will be used even after 100 years cause it can also be 5he beginning of a new currency

As long us there is a bitcoin user all over the world I think bitcoin might survive no matter how long will it takes. Because at any moment it can also be gone if ever all bitcoin users now will and never use bitcoin anymore. But that's too impossible to be happen anyway.  |

The only question is if it is still profitable for miners but I presume it will be, maybe somebody could clarify this.
It will be profitable for miners just in two cases: 1. Transactions fees will become huge. 2. Bitcoin price in USD will reach very high values. Then they will convert their mining fees to fiat money and so still earn good profits. Both cases are very negative. The former because BTC txs will be too expensive and thus not viable for all levels of society. The latter because it means that fiat currencies like USD will still be around from here to 100 years and Bitcoin won't be able to destroy it... |

Well based of the current trends and status of cryptocurrency or bitcoin, it is more good and great than before and based on my personal predictions, it will be more good and stable after 100 years. Way back 2011 the value of bitcoin is just 1 USD and look now it is reaching 4000 USD and imagine if many country will join in cryptocurrency, it will going to increase more. |

100 years is too long. In just 10 years we have to consider several aspects to say that bitcoin will survive. I think it may not be more than 10 years, if bitcoin remains like this.
