No one can really tell what the future holds for bitcoin... With fast phasing technology that we have nowadays maybe there will be other cryptocurrencies that will take over in the market a hundred years from now. With the rising value of bitcoin at the moment, there is a possibility that it will last for a century.

I think it will survive as a cryptocurrency. I had imagine in this 100 years Quantum computing will become common at some time so it will have to be rewritten to increase the computing complexity. But, I won't rule out that it could be difficult to rewrite so something new can replace it

Bitcoin is strong but still unstable due to volatile prices. The next 100 years will be a lot of altcoin, but I still do not know if bitcoin will be rivaled or not because to my knowledge bitcoin is the core of all coins.

Too far and wasted opinion to think of Bitcoin100 years ahead. Bitcoin currently has not even reached the age of 10 years. What makes Bitcoin survive until now, so it almost reaches the age of 10 years? Well, as well as Bitcoin process towards the next 100 years.

I mean, there's a lot of uncertainty in a lot of aspects of life. What happens if we have a fuel crisis? No fuel, no power, no internet, no trading of bitcoin. Yes, there is the possibility of renewable energy, but it is hard to maintain a large grid as we currently have on renewables. You'd have to have a de-centralized grid in order to make that work. And all of this is considering if we don't kill everyone first.

I agree, so much can happen in this time that it is useless to try to guess it. But cryptocurrency are definitely the future in one way or another.

I think Bitcoin will be replaced by the latest crypto ... 100 years too long, maybe people have found a better & safer new technology similar to today's blockchain.

this is too far, nothing can be predicted for 100 years. but I think as long as no one replaces or rivals bitcoin then bitcoin will still survive.

I will always support that bitcoin can last up to 100 years, depending also on the policies of each country ..

For me bitcoin will survive even hundreds year past maybe that year bitcoin will be the most crypto used all over the world, and maybe it can be an alternative currency for payment in all transaction not only in online but in reality. Also bitcoin is continue it legacy if there are compete in other cryptocurrency.

I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential
I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well
But what do you think about it after 100 years ?
no one can predict that but as far as now i can say that bitcoin just starting out so i think bitcoin will increase more in the next year but as you said that after 100 years? no one knows but yes maybe in the next generation the bitcoin become our future money.

Yes bitcoin there after 100 years too. But how much it grows is depends on we people and our views about bitcoin. Because how many countries accept bitcoin as a currency and how many not, is matters future of bitcoin.

as long as the technology and the internet are still there and growing, I think bitcoin will continue to exist. because bitcoin goes along with the development of technology and internet. so maybe bitcoin will always exist for 100 years or 200 years ahead.thats my opinion ^^

100 years from now? Perhaps actual bitcoin may only be held by a relatively few people. Maybe it's held by governments, or large corporations. My guess is the actual bitcoins will be highly leveraged, and the people will use that leverage to do the things bitcoin is intended to do. The fee collectors (miners) will likely become more and more centralized.
Hope I am wrong, just can't see how it wouldn't go that way.

I think the bitcoin will last forever if the crypto community supports it. Because bitcoin is being invested heavily in traditional markets. I think bitcoin can reach $ 50000 in 2018. I will continue to invest in bitcoin in the near future.
