Apparently your mobile number is used by a third party to scam you. Number of criminals are growing in crypto currency because it is not easy to track them. It's a precious lesson for us not to register on random websites

The company most likely bought a database of crypto-related contacts.

Isn't it at all possible that they're just calling random numbers, not necessarily from crypto-related databases? It seems to me like their chance of scamming is close to zero if the person they end up calling is actually knowledgeable about the subject. If I were to run a scam like that, I would prefer to call people who have no idea how cryptocurrencies work.

Either way, the least we could do is spread the word that a scam like this is going around.

I received a phone call today from the UK number 020 7616 1383. I didn't answer as I was driving at the time.
I've checked the number through Google, and several sites report it as a financial services scam site that is attempting to sell Bitcoin.
Has anybody else had these types of call? I'm wondering how they got my number as well.

I think just like the ad we see is tailored, so also is the source of the call came from. It would have been from a site that a particular verification has been done the most common of it would be sites where there is an element of freebies probably faucets or some referral program because quality exchange sites have some serious control over data provided to them while the others are mostly about what they can get. I all boils down to being careful where you put your details and never be greedy to make money.

This is normal. Fraudulent calls are often received in our own country. Now that I have become accustomed to information disclosure, the liar is hard to guard, what we need now is to be vigilant and prevent fraudulent information at all times.

I never received such calls, but that means that Bitcoin became so famous.
Getting your phone number is not that hard, maybe you used it somewhere.
Many websites sell their customers databases (phone numbers, emails addresses...) or they just used a software that generates random numbers.

This is very worrying, what now has begun to appear fraud on behalf of cryptocurrency. This is the action that keeps everyone who uses bitcoin to be careful. Maybe after this will appear another mode.

That's not good, a lot of scmmers nowdays and they will do and use anything to take advantage of otehr people's hard earned money. I would just like to tell everyone to always be on your toes, do not just provide your personal information to anyone and if you get calls like that, always be cautious and don't fall into their scams.
