Just thought I'd post it here in case anyone came across it.

Yes it's a cloudmining scam and has nothing to do with me.
They've even copied the stats from my pool web site, claiming they found my pool's blocks Sad

The scam: https://kanockpool.com/

Pretty obvious scam, but in case it wasn't obvious to anyone, stay away from it.

Pool: https://kano.is - low 0.5% fee PPLNS 3 Days - Most reliable Solo with ONLY 0.5% fee   Bitcointalk thread: Forum
Discord support invite at https://kano.is/ Majority developer of the ckpool code - k for kano
The ONLY active original developer of cgminer. Original master git: https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Thanks for the heads up.

Should be clear to anyone that this is a scam because of the fact that they are running a cloud mining scheme without any sort of proof that they actually own any rigs in their possession. Plus the fact that you, the owner of Kano pool, have not said anything about it.

They made the site look pretty good though, gotta say that. At least better than average scammer standards.

I doubt they're even a ponzi scheme. They're just going to take your deposit and run, that's the most likely scenario since they are impersonating someone.

The scam site appears to be gone now. Glad I tested out the free 100 gh for some days to see if it would pay out first before buying into this scam. I thought it was real because I just bought poolshares some days ago from a guy who uses your pool.

I managed to get cloudflare to show a warning before you get to the site so that probably helped for a while.

Now, however, they've moved off cloudflare and the IP 181.215.237.175 has no abuse/contact details in whois and they are back up and running.
As mentioned above, stay away from the site, it's a scam.

How was it possible to get cloudflare to do this? If we can do this to every scam site, it'll definitely help the bitcoin ecosystem out a whole lot.

The impersonator still up and running, though.

I'd be surprised actually if they gain a lot of scam victims. They don't have a stable advertising source since as soon as they advertise on this forum they will be bombarded with neg trust by DT members for impersonation. Also, i'd like to think that people who know anything about Kano pool should have an above average eye for obvious scams like this  Lips sealed

Good to know!

Looks like that IP (and DNS) is hosted by RivalHost. They look legit, based out of Oklahoma, but who knows - could also be a spam/crime-friendly host given the DDOS protection services. Here's their contact info:

TOTALLY UNTRUE, I have been paid 5 times already! Unsure how to post my with drawls here but IT IS NOT a SCAM site at all!
It's a scam - and the most obvious reason being that they list my pool's blocks as their blocks, and my pool's hash rate.

They also claim to be my pool on their web site:
"KanoCKPool was founded in 2014 as an Bitcoin mining startup. We’ve developed the world’s top Bitcoin mining pool with the most advanced deployment technology. We’ve also released cloud mining products."
