Do you see a abrupt drop of the mempool size today? from 55M bytes all of sudden dropped to 8M bytes. I never any thing like that. what could possibly happened?

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.
