 Is it possible? Or do I have to mine bitcoin and get namecoin with it ?

Doesn't seem much point when you can merge mine and get both at the same rate as if you were only doing one.

You won't mine them any faster if you only solo mine NM.  Merge mine them.

It is possible but not profitable because namecoin has the highest hashrate/market volume.
Only merged mining with bitcoin is profitable and doesn't require additional work. If you mine only namecoins you will not mine more than by a merged mining.

It is possible.  You won't get more for doing it... well maybe some infinitesimal amount by less longpolls and whatever the stratum equivalent is for restarting when a block is found.   So no real point to it.

Merged mining is the best idea IMO: http://mmpool.bitparking.com/pool - mine BTC, DVC, IXC and NMC at the same time.
