Concept: On one specific date, we all put $1000 USD (or whatever you are comfortable with) and all buy the same coin at the same time. If there's interest, we can all congegrate through email, discord or something

Aiming for a september date for this ... and targetting a cheap coin with potential so we can all hold like a 1,000,000 of the coin

That is just a pumping and hoarding of a coin.
Check out my list of coins in the thread in my Sig.  I think rather then pump a coin for one day, we could find a consensus on one or a few deserving coin we can continually support.

Something similar.  These coins need long term support or just fade away.  At least one dev active on the project, and others.  We can set bounties, make a faucet, android wallets, markets, etc.

Things like this wont work. There will always be atleast 1 who see an oppertunity to buy in early and dump when you raised the price. Most likely over half of the people in you group wont trust the others and will dump at the first sign of price decrease leaving you with many coins at a low price if you indeed think this is a legit idea and wont abuse it yourself.

There is no way this is going to work, putting in such huge buy wall will make a shit coin more valauble and thier is no way for you to prevent anyone from taking profit early since the fund is not been managed by someone

Not as well as you'd expect.  And they're usually a tiny group that regularly meet.  Imagine a large anonymous group.

Edit:  The diamond cartel is an exception but that's a near monopoly with De Beers owning some 70% of the market.

That just like give your money to the shitcoin holders, so they can leave from there and we will be trapped in there. I hope everyone must understand to not invest in the shitcoin with unknown development.
Why choose the shitcoin if there are some better coin.

Got into BTC around Jan 2016. Altcoins March 2017. I am pretty new. Thought it would be a good idea though ... but definately havnt thought it through. Appreciate the responses.

Ideally i would want to get in on a Penny coin, but i guess we can always go for a coin like NEM / Ripple / NXT / Stellar which are easy to purchase on Polo and fairrly cheap

I dont hink that would be a good idea becuase people will soon sell off their coins as they make their targeted profit and then the price will go down and rest of them will be left over being bag holders. Thats what happens with all the pump and dumps. We should never take part in a pump and dump to avoid losses. Better to play right and play safe.

Agree with that not a good idea to stay that coin in a pump way playing it is more adventurous here in forum. For me i woul probably play that way than to keep it pump because we dont owe it and we cant predict what other think.
