People are still afraid to introduce bitcoin into their lives due to the fact that its course is too unstable or even not heard of it. In order for all to switch to the digital currency, more than one generation must change.
Yes that includes our parents and our eldest member of the family who are not familiar with bitcoin.  They are always been afraid on things they are not familiar to.  Bitcoin for them is complicated and they think that they have to be knowledgeable in computers.  But teens are easier to teach because they can easily understand.

A bunch of Americans discovered that only 42% could correctly identify what bitcoin is. A small minority (12%) thought bitcoin was either an Xbox game.
However, 42% is remarkably high considering how many Americans have actually come into contact with bitcoin. No one knows how many people own any of the digital currency, but the number is probably less than 1 million, many of whom are outside the US. So a 42% recognition rate is a triumph of mindshare for what, as we’ve argued before, is a largely media-generated phenomenon. These are the same Americans of whom 94% can’t name a single Chinese brand, after all.
So if that relatively high and still growing public awareness in the US translates into more people buying bitcoin—which it should, as buying bitcoin gets easier every day—the logical conclusion is that despite its meteoric increase in value this year the currency, worth around $900 per coin as of this writing, still has a long way to rise.

I called around some stores to see if they accept BTC, no one has even heard of it except like 0.1% of people.  Wait till people actually find out this exists...

It's almost the same situation here, where the majority of the online store owners didn't know about Bitcoin or other alt coins at all (Some even think that Bitcoin is a part of ponzi scheme lol)

Yes, because there is no available information for them, there's no advertisements and demonstration on how they will do this. It's hard to explain this to them cause it's new to them. There are people who knows what bitcoin is but they don't know it's functions. At first i was hesitant to know what bitcoin is until my boyfriends sister explain everything she knows about bitcoin and how does it work.

Exactly, most people don't even know what Bitcoin is yet therefore we are in a great position to be leaders for future economic development, not just in the local community but on a global scale as well.

Of clurse even if bitcoin is more rampant now than before there are still a considerable amount of people that doesnt know or who still doesnt realize what the power of bitcoin can do to their lives and in their business. Most people are now hust starting and its up to us to further it.
There are reasons why some people would continue to ignore Bitcoin:

1.  some people just don't want to put their faith one more time on another internet money after all they have heard or experienced;

2. Bitcoin and the technology behind it, is knowledge based and that already is a barrier for many;

3. infrastructure and communication devices are elusive and a luxury in some part of the globe.

You have a point but rather than that i think its more of lack of knowledge and awareness of it. majority of people in this world don't even know that it exist just like the op

describes. how can they ignore something they don't even know. in my country people who have heard bitcoin but doesn't care lacks knowledge about it because if you talk to them

and ask what do you know about bitcoin and have you considered using it? i'm sure they will said a lot of misconceptions about bitcoin just like what always happens to me when i

talk about bitcoin to my peers.

It is definitely still a ways away from being fully known and accepted. But as it gains popularity it will be interesting to see where things go with the price. No doubt as more merchants accept bitcoin it will influence the price in a positive way.

When I first found out about bitcoins I never really took it seriously untill my friends started to show changes in their lives, as well as changes in their bank acounts, then I started to get curious and eventually joined the community. I think that is what will happen if people would really find out about bitcoin.
Same do I as one of my friends told me about the increasing price of the bitcoin I thought it must be like the real coin so I though how the coin can increase in price like this but later on I searched about it on Goggle and I started using bitcoin. Now the price of the bitcoin is much high then before. Same the popularity of the bitcoin has increased a lot now almost every one want to use bitcoin and want to invest in bitcoin same I want now.

Lol! I'm not surprised. Even here, you can rarely, very rare hear people claim to know bitcoin. Some claims to have heard about it but no idea. Some does not know at all while in the social media i see a lot who posts about bitcoin.

 So is every new technology or invention it takes time for people to full understand and accept them into their daily lives.i think we should give it time for them to get acquainted with it rather than getting discouraged and quitting completely.

Yeah, when Bitcoin will become the premium way for people to pay online because of lower fees and many other advantages, as well for all people wanting to send money to their family abroad, price will rock for sure !

I dont think so, most of the people doesnt know bitcoin yet I think thats because butcoin wasnt introduced in the social media or even advertise in  the televisiom because governments are not totally done with recognizing bitcpin through research and reviews. I think when most of the people will know about bitcoin I thi k their will be an instance where in the opportunities for us will be li ited , yes the price get really too high but we cannot find signature campaign to earn so what sense?

I rather think people don't like to get into technology stuffs as there's the general perception that it's difficult and so they become reluctant and stay away. It's the same with mathematics in high school, ladies often shy away from it saying it's difficult because they don't like to commit a lot of their time into studying it.

There are some countries that accept bitcoin as a way of payment. Since the price of bitcoin nowadays is going high, i think more and more people will be curious about what bitcoin is. Also, techy people or those people who spend their life most of the time in computers knew bitcoin well. And those ordinary people dont even have any idea what bitcoin is and what can it do.

I think people know or have heard about Bitcoin but are also too lazy to get into learning about it just like they feel reluctant about trading because it involves some amount of studies and practice to develop your skills.

Well actually, there are still many people in the world who doesn't know about bitcoin and maybe they see bitcoin is very difficult to use and to earn money with it. That's why many people talks about bitcoin in public and convince many people to use bitcoin because they assume that if everybody uses bitcoin, naybe the government will declare it as a legal currency.

Yes lots of people doesn't even know about bitcoin even here in country i had never encounter anyone knows about it. It would really take days months years before people would adopt the crypto currency. If the people are interested on internet and work online they would be the first to know about it and for sure they will show interest on bitcoin.

Yes it is true we are lucky because we know bitcoin unlike them and we can see if we only knew about bitcoin sooner we will be rich by now. Well people doesn't get interested in things that they don't know will benefit them. But if only they knew about bitcoin, what kind of things it can do I think they will find their way to learn about bitcoin by themselves.

Yes, just wait. Bitcoin is still on its infancy stage. It is still developing. Do not worry. Its popularity is increasing. Individuals getting to know Bitcoin are increasing. Businesses and companies accepting Bitcoin as a payment are increasing. It just needs time. I believe someday Bitcoin will be known worldwide.
Bitcoin still on the way and headed towards that certain thing. Bitcoin isn't fully established and having troubles with money exchanger that's why only a few numbers of establisment are accepting this. Once it become stable, probably more people are using bitcoins and it could be increase the positive approach of company holders to start accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment.
