What if someone designed and printed physical bitcoins? Of course also guarantees to buy them back if one decides to change it back into the digital bitcoins without selling it to another person.

Wouldn't that be fun?
And a great way of promoting bitcoin to non-geeks.

Would you buy them?

This has already been discussed at great length, in multiple threads. In summary it is generally agreed that a 3rd party 'central authority' must issue a coin that represents a claimed value of ‘bitcoin’ stored in some wallet vault somewhere.

See this thread for a ‘digital cash’ layer, which may co-exist with bitcoin.http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=847.0

One off NP-Hard.
